Just replaced radios for the modern radios with Bluetooth and all the dance things and wanted to share how I went around the antenna knob…

I’ve installed a regular two way GM window switch in the glove compartment box so it’s concealed and convenient as well.

I recently purchased a new boot for my 64 convertible and was wondering how difficult it s to install. I'm not very mechanical. It looks like the chrome piece behind and at top of seats needs to be removed? I could find any videos on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THX

In my “rebuild” of the transmission, I ordered a dipstick tube seal. However, I’m not sure if the right one came or how to best install the seal.

I am wondering if anyone has replaced this seal OR found another way to seal the tube to the pan.

Many Thanks!

Eventually I’ll replace the speedo cable if needed but I believe the dash will need to come out to do that. However, shortly, I will be replacing the transmission on my 64 Fleetwood and I was wondering when we plug the Speedo cable into the new trans, is there a lubricant I can get into there? It makes noise especially when cold. Figure it might help a little.

Thanks!

Also, I’ll upload a few photos of the “Craigslist Rebuild” I did on…

Also, I’ll upload a few photos of the “Craigslist Rebuild” I did on the trans. No full rebuild, but the case and pan sure looks better! Hoping this used trans from Jason does the trick until I can find a shop that’ll touch a 64 TH400
1964 429tag:6364cadillac.ning.com,2024-03-06:6543066:Topic:3712542024-03-06T03:36:14.334ZLogan Robbhttps://6364cadillac.ning.com/profile/LoganRobb

One of my goals is to get another 1964 429 and rebuild it my self for fun. My Fleetwood, to my knowledge, is just fine. No engine issues. But now that I have a spare transmission, might as well have a spare motor too!

I don’t need a spare, but would be a fun project to work on and then eventually when the Fleetwood does need a rebuild, I’ve got one already build and ready to go! Seem logical if you ask me HA!

I know 64 blocks are hard to find, but I wanted to confirm a few things:

1) Will a 429 out of a 1964 Series 75 Limo work? I know they carried over for 1965 so curious if they had adapted the block and trans at that time as well.

2) 64 is a one year only block and transmission, correct? What are the differences in the block and what should I look for to confirm I have the correct block? Are there engine number stamping that I could reference as a sure fire way to know it’s a 64 429 block?

Got to meet Mike Brewer from the TV show Wheeler Dealer at car show in Delray Beach. He's seems to be a great guy, just like on his show. He couldn't have been nicer and has that great British sense of humor. As I expected, I didn't win any prizes for my Big Red 64 but received plenty of looks and compliments. After all, the muscle in the 64 is quite, unseen and comfortable just they WE like it?

My trip spin knob or where it is connected is stripped. I can reset it but it takes work. Any suggestions on repair or replace? I can't find it in the shop manual. 64 DeVille Convertible.

Just as I had done last December with the standard 1963 Cadillacs magazine ads, I have started scanning my 1964 Cadillac Ads, and will post here one by one, then combine into a single photo album and point to from our Ads link in the header.
I'm looking to freshen up a few thing on the 429, and am looking for sources of the timing cover. I.m new to the Cadillac world and have found that the Cadillac King sells a refurbished timing cover, just wondering if someone had any experience with them and or any other source. I searched back on this site and didn't find any info when people asked similar questions. Thank you very much.
