Hi the  390 motor in my 1963 Coupe is toast and can not be repaired. I am in need of either a complete motor or small block or big block any block. I have tried most of the advertised parts dealers on the site but no luck. Any help in finding one would be greatly appreciated.

The parts you are looking for —may be available right here when the boys come by

Enjoy

Not sure what you mean by when the boys come by in  your reply. Thanks.

He's referring to Jason and Russ.

You must've done a number on the 390 for it to be unrepairable. Did it throw a leg out of bed?

I bought the car as is knowing that there was a problem with the motor. When I tore it apart,  I found out that a piston had disintegrated and the connected rod when through the cylinder leaving a two inches hole. Now I have to replace it or rebuild one with the good parts that are left.

Holes in the block, geez, some bondo and chemi weld and you're going again. LOL

Since I reside in Eastern Canada I was thinking more likes duck tape or hockey tape LMAO. But I do have my work cut out. It's a long winter here so I have time on my hand to get the motor ready for spring.

Hehe, "duck tape" is a bit funny. However where I live its called "Strömma tape". Strömma is a large passenger vessel company and, according to the rumour, they are famous for repairing everything on their boats with the gray sticky tape originally named duct tape.

Picture of Strömmas Östanå in a wintry Stockholm archipelago:

Btw Kevin, when you get here an archipelago cruise is on the schedule. However not with Strömma. We will take a steam boat cruise on Storskär eating steam boat steak.

For those that doesn't know, steam boat steak is a tender piece of meat that is put on the coal shovel and into the furnace of the boiler for a few seconds. Tastes a bit weird and sooty. Well worth it for a motor head.

I have bare blocks, short and long blocks.   My email is  russ85747@hotmail.com    Located in Tucson AZ

Hi Russ. We have communicated already by e-mail on Sunday. I will send you another reply by e-mail and see if we can work something out.

 Marcel

I am sure you now understand what  I meant  by the boys stopping by as we have the regular crew that lives here and drop in very often to help others out with parts and hands on advice

Do acquire any parts you may be needing from Russ as he has been doing great business since I am on this site as a consultant  ( 3-4 times ) daily since 2006

Anything Jason can do for you will be golden as well

These guy live and breath our year cars with the knowledge to get you the correct item at the right price

Enjoy

Thanks I will get in touch with Russ.

So my 63 guide matic headlamps stay on low beam all the time. I have so far bypassed the system and everything works normal. I have been thru the trouble shooting in the manual but this is where the confusion begins.on my car when the power relay is powered I have low beam and when its not powered I have highbeam, this appears to be opposite what the diagnosis says should be correct. The wiring is all original and no wires have been mixed up.has anyone ever unplugged the 2 wire connector…

Stuck at two red (dash) lights!

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.

By way of background: The car, a '64 Eldorado has very limited use. It was at a restoration shop for 15 months until last January-  that supposedly did a bunch of wiring repairs including rebuilding the gas gauge that still hasn't worked properly, and the clock that hasn't worked, and re-soldering the broken wires in the drive door. All window and seat controls appear to be…
