For all events and tours, you must be preregistered and have the appropriate tour ticket to gain admission. All activities and swap meet spaces are limited to a first come, first served basis. No exceptions.  The New York Capital District Region reserves the right to cancel any activity due to conditions or lack of attendees.

Tuesday July 8

9 a.m.—5 p.m.  Adirondack Experience Tour:  We welcome you to experience Adirondack living with this award winning tour of the “Adirondack Gilded Age”.

We set off from Fort William Henry via bus tour through the mountains to the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. The Adirondack Museum’s vast campus features displays in 22 modern exhibition galleries and historic buildings. There are lush grounds and sweeping views. The exhibitions tell the unique story of the Adirondacks and its people. You will explore topics ranging from boating to logging, and including plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for kids. Lunch is on your own at the Lake View Café while admiring the view over Blue Mountain Lake.

We will then depart to visit the Great Camp Sagamore at Raquette Lake. A National Historic Landmark, you will visit 27 authentic buildings of the wilderness estate of the Vanderbilt Family from 1901-1954. Tours at Great Camp Sagamore consist of a twenty-five minute slide show followed by an hour-and-a-half walking tour of the key buildings, for a full length of about two hours. The guided tour begins in the Upper Complex (or “Workers’ Camp”), where you will learn about the history of the workers who built the camp under the direction of W.W. Durant, who maintained and expanded the camp during the ownership of the Vanderbilt family. Next, you will move to the Lower Complex, where you will see the bark-covered Vanderbilt guest buildings, including the famous Main Lodge, which has served as a model for the National Park Service lodge buildings. You will also see the beautiful dining hall overlooking Sagamore Lake, and the Playhouse, where the Vanderbilt’s entertained their guests.

Wednesday July 9

8 a.m.—2 p.m. CLC National summer board meeting (open to all attendees)  FREE

8:30 a.m.—4 p.m.Vintage Boats, Cars and Collections I—Hall’s Boat Restoration,  Saratoga Auto Museum, Gillette Corvette Tour I:  (box lunch included)  Experience a combination of classic wooden and antique boats and classic cars. Your journey will begin with a tour of the famed Hall’s Boat Corporation, located on Lake George, which specializes in antique boat restoration and sales. Next, it’s onward to the Saratoga Automobile Museum. The Museum features multiple exhibits, including feature exhibit (50th Anniversary of Ford Mustang), Racing in NY State (display of NY race cars dating from 1896), East of Detroit (an exhibit of automotive manufacturer’s from NY State), NY State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame exhibit, and SAM’s Garage, an interactive children’s exhibit. Lunch included.

We conclude Wednesday with a visit to Gillette Corvette, the personal collection of amusement park owner Jack Gillette which includes a warehouse collection of Corvettes from the very first to present.

Tour 2 on Thursday also visits Halls Boats and the Saratoga Museum, however, Tour 2 concludes with a visit to the private car collection of Richard Rosetti of Albany instead.

Third Annual Ladies’ Social at Fort William Henry with the Cadillac Queen FREE– 2:30-4pm. Relax and get reacquainted with some old friends and establish new friendships, as hosted by the Caddy Queen, Marsha Redman. 

5 p.m. CLC Roundtable

CLC Welcome Reception and CLCMRC Benefit Auction – 6pm-9pm Tickets and event ID badges are required! Officially open the 2014 CLC Grand National Meet at the Fort William Henry Resort and Conference Center. Meet old friends and make new ones while you snack on hors d’oeuvres and enjoy a drink from the cash bar. Then, our auctioneer, Richard Dormois, will lead us through another exciting live auction to benefit the CLC Museum and Research Center (CLCMRC). All attendees will receive an auction number, so join in on the fun and help bring us closer to completing construction on our new museum. You must be registered for this event and possess a ticket to enter.

Thursday July 10

8:30 a.m.—5 p.m. Adirondack Adventurer Tour—natural caves and bridges, lunch at Copperfield  Inn (included), North Creek Railroad Museum, Gore Mountain gondola ride – For those appreciating the Adirondack outdoors. This fun-filled tour is designed to showcase the Adirondacks from underground to mountain summit. We start with a tour of the Natural Caves and Bridges. Come see the massive stone bridge arch – the LARGEST marble cave entrance in the east – dominates this spectacular display of ancient Adirondack geology from rock over one billion years old. Take a walking stick, map, and camera and set out on a self-guided, above-ground, natural stone step nature trail and experience up-close the many unique rock features, such as potholes, grottos, a gorge and mill site waterfalls. Descend into lighted surface caves with raging waterfalls or tranquil dark pools. Closed toe rubber sole shoes/sneaker required. There are a number of natural stone steps on the tour making it impossible for strollers (they rent backpacks) and not advisable for anyone with a health problem that prohibits climbing up/down uneven steps. They do offer a number of other activities for those who cannot do our tour, including: a world-class rock & mineral shop, a 30min PBS video entitled “Under the Adirondacks” and an Adirondack Memories Museum.

Next, we will have a buffet lunch (included) at the Copperfield Inn in North Creek, NY. Following lunch, tour the North Creek Railroad Depot Museum.  The North Creek Depot Museum is a Theodore Roosevelt Historic Site, and tells the exciting History and Heritage of the Gore Mountain Region, through its exhibits and model train diorama. We conclude with a visit to Gore Mountain Ski Area for a panoramic picture-perfect view of the Adirondacks via a gondola ride to the summit. A perfect way to conclude the day!

9 a.m.—4 p.m. Vintage Boats, Cars and Collections II—Hall’s Boat Restoration,  Saratoga Auto Museum, Rosetti Collection (box lunch included) Tour 2 Repeat of Wednesday Tour 1 including Hall’s Boat Corporation and Saratoga Automobile Museum.

However, instead of the Gillette collection visit itinerary of Tour 1, we conclude with a tour of the private collection of Richard Rosetti of Albany, featuring Cadillacs, Corvettes, and variety of muscle cars and trucks with complete onsite restoration facility.

1—4 p.m. Seminars — Choose at event: Lectures by local experts including:

Frank Nicodemus (Nicodemus Cadillac Restorations),
Gerald Linen (Appraiser, Professional Adjustment Services),
Al Pantodes (Early Hydro-Matic transmission rebuild)

1—4 p.m. CLC Museum & Research Center board meeting (open to all attendees)

SOLD OUT 5:30—9 p.m. Lake George Steamboat Co. Lobster Bake Cruise  – Enjoy this sunset 2.5 hour dinner cruise aboard the Lac Du Saint Sacrement, the largest vessel on beautiful Lake George. At Sunset the “Saint’s” Dinner Cruise offers a special lobster bake, all while viewing the beauty of Lake George and her surrounding mountains in the evening light.

Friday July 11

8:30 a.m.—2 p.m. Taylor Made Collection and lunch at Lanzi’s on the Lake – Visit the amazing collection of Jim Taylor of Taylor Made Products. Jim is a vast collector of American and European cars of various years and is truly not to be missed. Highlights include original Cobras, vintage Jaguars, Model T’s, Corvettes, factory prototype show cars, Cadillacs, among a vast and impressive collection. Buffet lunch (included) will follow at Lanzi’s on the Lake Restaurant, along beautiful Great Sacadaga Lake.

2:30—9 p.m. Hemmings Motor News Cruise-In and Dinner, Bennington, Vt. (bus tour)   Afternoon departure to the “Automotive Bible Headquarters”, Hemmings Motor News, Inc. Come celebrate National Car Collector’s Day with us at Hemmings. Early-bird dinner included in historic Bennington, VT followed by visit to Hemmings Cruise-In. Check out their museum and store.

5:30—10 p.m. Painted Pony BBQ and Rodeo Show (no transportation)- Looking for something exciting for the whole family? How about a night at The Painted Pony Rodeo? Cowboys and Cowgirls galore! Kick off the evening with an awesome BBQ Buffet, then dust off your boots and mosey on over to the corral, for a real Championship RODEO. Great fun for everyone! Tough cowboys, beautiful cowgirls, funny rodeo clowns, outstanding animals and so much more. Guaranteed to be on the edge of your seat. Transportation on your own.

Saturday July 12

Cars must be parked on show field by 9am!

7—9:30 a.m. Judges’ Breakfast (judges only-need to sign up on reg form)

10 a.m.—3 p.m. CLC Car Show opens and judging begins (cars must be parked by 9 a.m.)

10 a.m.—11:30 a.m. Youth Judging

SOLD OUT 10 a.m.—2 p.m. Ladies’ Getaway—Buffet Brunch and Tour of  Sagamore Hotel and Spa, Bolton Landing, N.Y.– A perfect retreat for the ladies who want to step back in time for a brunch buffet at the renowned Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing. Following brunch, your guide will provide a historical tour of the grounds of the Sagamore. Relax and enjoy the view from the veranda watching the boats go by or maybe you will want to treat yourself to the world class spa at the hotel.

4—6 p.m. Cadillac and LaSalle Village Parade, Lake George Village (closed course)– Now that the judging has concluded, come celebrate some victory laps in your Cadillac or LaSalle in parade style throughout the Village of Lake George. A closed-circuit course will be set up and monitored by local authorities. All regular traffic will be diverted. A real treat to show off your cruiser prior to the Awards banquet.

6:30—10 p.m. Awards Banquetcocktails 6:30 p.m., dinner 7 p.m.– Come celebrate the conclusion of the CLC Grand National Meet at the host hotel. Join your CLC members, New York Capital District Region volunteers, family, and friends for the CLC Awards banquet and recognition of individual CLC member national awards. Special ticket is required.

 All week long:

Steamboat Tours of Lake George – Travel back in time on the Minne-Ha-Ha Steamboat and view the beauty of the southern basin of Lake George the way people did over 100 years ago, from the decks of an authentic steamship!

This one hour cruise on the crystal clear waters of Lake George explores the southern half of Lake George where large historic mansions line the shores below scenic mountains, each site and its history fully described to you by your captain. Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
