THX in advance

Yes you are right about the bolt going into an oil passage in the head
You can use a sealer on that bolt

Enjoy

Tony,

Any go into the water passageways?  Which ones, hoping its not the one I broke the head off!

Tom, The "B" bolt you broke off circled in yellow below does not go into an oil or water passage. it simply goes through the water pump and front engine cover into a raised front mounting area on the front of the block. Behind the end of the bolt is a solid thick steel wall. If you were to go all the way through you would end up in the valve lifter compartment and that would take some doing!

WONDERFUL, Expect to receive a Cardone WP in a few days from Rock auto, already have a return label to send back the Gates WP to them for refund. Should be ready to install by midweek, pump new /replacing hoses, belts, gaskets . Already have the new heater core (old one leaked bad) installed earlier this week. Floors are all welded in, floor sound barrier installed .

Started the interior prep work today on the rear (6) side panels. Should see seat upholstery coming in very soon, received the vinyl that matches the seats for the rest of the interior this past week. Then on to the six way seat conversion to get ready for the upholstery part.

Jason, Just started to refill the cooling system and found that coolant/air is leaking from the bolt hole "b". Will need to redo  the water pump installation -- and get the remnants of the bolt (b) out to replace it.

Need correct Muffler for 64 DeVille

Posted by Norman Silverman on June 18, 2018 at 7:57pm 13 Comments

Hello all.

I need to replace the muffler on my 64 and the local shop does not have the correct one.

After looking on the web site's help section, I still don't see a recommended part/manufacturer or suggestion.

What is the best solution to purchase for a stock, single system with 2 1/2 inch pipes, center in, offset out?

Thanks.

64 Power Seat Transmission cleaning-it did the trick

Posted by Norman Silverman on June 16, 2018 at 5:36pm 4 Comments

Hello All.

I thought I'd post a little encouragement for those that might have an inoperative 6 way power seat in their car. The fix is relatively easy, and VERY cheap.

I just purchased an original (not re-painted, nor reupholstered) 64 Sedan De Ville 4 window. When I purchased it the front seat was adjusted forward and tilted down in front; two of the worst positions for me, so I had no choice but to attempt to repair it.

Pushing the switch in each direction brought…
