I was just cleaning the inside AC/Heat air box from my latest parts car, a 1963 Cadillac and #50, and out fell an original key, 1951 wheat penny and Beatles Fan pin . How cool is that!

Very, and my guess is that the Beatles Fan pin will be pretty valuable. It looks to be in good condition.

23 dollars for the pin.

….. I've got my great grand father's spittoon sitting in our Parlor.  I'm guessing it was made in the 1920's. Could you tell me what it is worth so I know what to sell it for on eBay?

Not for sale. It went to my wife, and brought much more personal value than the couple of bucks it might be worth.

Just think if you had found an Elvis pin from back in the day. That may be too much for you to handle : )

I would have smiled so hard and wide my head would have snapped off at the ears and rolled of onto the floor!
OK.. gotta give credit where credit is due... That is what Stephen King said when describing what it was like when he first heard Elvis in 1956.   Always, loved that quote! It was definitely an "awakening" for teenagers going from Perry Como to Elvis!

The penny might fetch a whole 15 cents.

Anders... really.. Really!!! You are more anal retentive than I am.. and that can be tough and I can be very AR at times. I know the penny has no real value! I don't need a link to the value of a well used bad condition penny. I use to collect coins. It is worth 1 cent. It has personal value as it was someone's pocket change that fell down the defroster duct at some point in that 1963 Cadillac. What is more cool is the fact some teenager was probably riding around in the 1963 Cadillac 55 years ago, I'm guessing around 1964 when the Beatles pin was lost. It was not cool that they lost it, but very cool that I found it 55 years later in parts car #50. It and that worthless penny is part of the history of that car and me finding it. There are so many things in my life that I cherish and value way beyond the "street value!"

Anders, You will get a real kick out of this, a few parts cars back, I found like 5 pennies in the floor board. they were all different years - 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968. All were well worn and worth a whopping 5 cents! That is if I wanted to spend them. I instead super glued them in date order to a small shelf I have to display odds and ends from parts cars. I just thought it was cool I found 5 pennies spanning 5 years, in order like that.  Again, I don't need a link to tell me what a poor condition 1964 to 1968 penny is worth.

That's awesome! I have found a few things in my car (grandfather's old car) & my parts car. This is the coolest:

Kurt that is outrageously cool and more than a bit on the risqué' side!

In my -66 DeVille Convertible I found a 1966 dime, below the carpet on front passenger. Have been trying to find one in my -64, but so far no luck.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
