First of all, apologies if these things are obvious but I got the car in pieces so I'm trying to put the puzzle back together and it's not always obvious to me!
First question; I have cleaned and inspected the AC unit that mounts on the firewall but I need to get a drain hose and figure out where it is routed inside the passenger side fender. Is there a special drain hose or should I just find something flexible with the correct inside diameter? Can someone tell me how this hose is routed inside the passenger fender? I couldn't find an obvious drain for it.
Second question; I am considering replacing the wires coming out of the middle of the firewall. Is there anything special about these wires and connectors (i.e. unique to Cadillac) or can I replace them with the same colour/gauge wire and new connectors?

Hose mounts on end of evaporator case and just drains on the ground.
Just to clarify, the water from the evaporator drains into the inner fender COWL not the inner fender. There is a drain hole at the bottom of the cowl area that looks like its coming from the back side of the fender. The inner cowl area is well undercoated.
There is a very common rust spot on the lower front passenger fender of our year cars
I am guessing if the evaporator drain hose has gone bad from age as yours has that that would be the time the mositure from the evaporator core would get to the inner fender to add to the rust in that lower fender area ( possible caused by other additional factors as well )
Cadillac did have a need to relocate the evaporator core to the inner fire wall on the newer year 60's Cadillacs
Good to know when the evaporator drain hose is working as it should that the inner fender on the passenger side is not effected by the moisture coming off the AC evaporator core
Due to the age of our cars many of these drain tubes have seen better days and not doing what they were designed to do unless someone has taken the time to replace that drain tube when freshening up the comfort control heat and AC systems in our year cars

A while back i was looking for someone to check the advance curve in my stock distributer to be sure it is still working as intended
I was unable to find anyone who could do that for me
This used to be done on the older-- Sun Dist Machine -and done by local Speed shops back in the day
I had no luck at all finding someone with that diagnostic tool in recent years
Looks like --Daves small-body hei's --is the solution to having the dist checked to see if it is performing up to stock specs
First service i have found that performes this very valuable older dist service for the older-- Non Hei dist --that i thought was no longer available anyplace
Any chance someone has a photo of a good evaporator drain hose located in the car to get a look at how exactly that hose performes and the cowl it drains into
Let me state once again for all, THE EVAPORATOR DRAIN DOES NOT, WILL NOT AND CAN NEVER WET the backside of the fender, PERIOD. The fender rusts at that location from an inner brace. Said brace collects sand and gravel which grinds away exposing metal. This is also the side of the road where most salty water puddles form to help the corrosion along. I have had both the fender and the evaporator removed from the car and can unequivocally confirm my statements. Tony, there is a drain hole further under the car, this is where the evaporator water gets out. The drain tube does not exit the inner COWL. It is there to stop air, bugs and rodent infiltration, nothing else. Evaporator water dumps inside the inner cowl with a new OR old drain tube. Again this area is very well undercoated.
