I believe my 64 AC is working right. But I thought if the center vent had directional fin's it would work better here in Sunny south Florida. As it stands they only direct air flow forward, up and down. It is so hot here that you only get cool if you but your hand in front of the vent and direct the air flow towards yourself.  Has any one invented a cover with directional fin's ?

Try some think card board from a shoe box. Glue gun the louvers in place from the back side.

Thank you Russ. I like it, not to sure about gluing tho.  Going to see if forcing them in place will work first.

Back in the day we were more prone to having passengers in the back seat, even Coupes, and that center vent was designed more to push air up and back thru the cabin, while the side dash vents were more personal front passenger vents.  Redirecting that air toward the driver or front passenger will take that much more air from getting to the back. Again, probably not a big deal but if you make this change and do have a back seat rider, expect them to be pretty uncomfortable on a really hot day.  For me it wouldn't be an issue as I rarely ever have anyone in the back seat other than my pooches... and they prefer the windows down!  It's a dog thing!

Is your rear window leaking ? I can see the headliner is wrinkled above the package tray.

No leaks. I redid that piece way back and didn't pull the material tight enough when I reglued it. It is hard to find good help! LOL

Bad Guage?

Posted by Karl Schwarz on August 26, 2020 at 3:08pm 5 Comments

So I am troubleshooting my fuel gauge issue. I bought a new sender and tested it. It  it goes from 1-ohm (empty) to 35-ohm (full). When I test it (outside the tank), when the float is in the up (full) position it only moves the gauge to about 1/2 full. When at the bottom (empty) position the gauge shows empty. This is the same issue I have when I fill and then use the gas in the tank - the gauge never reads ore than half full. Based on what I've read on this thread it would seem like the…
