A red white and blue floor standing basket was purchased on behalf of the 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter. I wish I could be at the service in person but this will let Bob's family and friends know how much we cared for and will miss Cadillac Bob!

Obituary

Robert J. Crimmins, 84 of Manalapan formerly of Laurence Harbor passed away at home on Sunday May 23, 2021. He worked for the Herbert L. Farkas Co Newark, NJ from 1963 - 2005 rising to VP of Sales. He then worked in sales at Hertz Furniture, Ramsey NJ for a number of years before retiring. Robert was a very active person. He loved to travel and cruise, visiting almost 100 different countries as well as 49 of the 50 states. He was a Titanic Enthusiast. A prolific model builder, Bob’s garage is lined with many shelves of expertly assembled car models as well as Cadillac memorabilia.

Robert's true passion was Classic Cadillacs. He was the proud owner of two 1955 Cadillacs and an active member of the Cadillac and LaSalle Club, serving as both the head of the National club’s publications committee as well as the Chapter Liaison. He also served as the recording secretary for the Raritan River Region of the Cadillac and LaSalle Club.

Cadillac Bob, as he was known, viewed life in the most positive and optimistic manner. His humor and jokes brought smiles to everyone he met. He was a superb conversationalist and close friends could always rely on him for encouraging words.

Robert is predeceased by his parents; John and Edith Crimmins and his brother Kennith Crimmins. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Clara (nee Martin), loving nieces; Nancy Russo of Cleveland, GA., Diane Ferwerda of Manahawkin, NJ., and Robyn Vogel of Aransas Pass, TX. Robert also leaves many great nieces and nephews. He was loved by all that knew him and was everyone's friend. His family and friends ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Cadillac and LaSalle Club Museum in his name. https://www.cadillaclasallemuseum.org/

Yesterday I learned the very sad news that the CLC Chapters VP Bob Crimmins (blue shirt in pictures above) had passed away. Bob helped guide me through the process to form the 63/64 Cadillac Chapter back in 2011 and has been helpful every step of the the way as we push our Chapter forward.
Beyond the Chapter, I got to meet and know Bob as a fellow Cadillac enthusiast and friend over the course of several Grand Nationals. He was funny, friendly, full of fantastic stories, sharp as a tack and just an all around fantastic fellow Cadillac enthusiast. I always looked up to him as a mentor but also valued his friendship. The ultimate honor for me was when he visited my home and attended our National Virtual Winter Board Meeting on Feb. 27. When the board meeting started Bob was going to sit over on the side of my office area, and I said "No way, you are sitting in my Captain's Chair!" and I moved to the side. It was just a fun day, and again an honor to have him particiate in his last CLC board meeting from my home office. He was a HUGE asset to the Cadillac LaSalle Club and will be dearly missed. Bob was 84 years old and was told he died in his garage with his cars. He lived a full life and think we could all aspire to follow in his footsteps.

I will forward funeral service and other memorial service details as I obtain them.
Jason Edge
Director 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter
