I just dragged a 64 Fleetwood home from a field in Texas and it has some options that are not on the ID tag. It has twilight sentinel, cruise control and a white painted top that are not noted on tag. Was Cadillac offering all these options at the dealer level? I guess the only was to know for sure would be to have the original sale receipt.

Ronnie,

it looks like a really beautiful Fleetwood. Enjoy it in good health.

Back in the day ( I was a kid car fanatic in the 50's and 60's) dealer installed, but factory supplied options were sometimes provided by dealers before the car was delivered.  This could be done to save time if the customer was unwilling to wait for a factory order, which sometimes took 4-6 weeks.

Unlike current practice where cars are typically available as version  "A" "B" or "C" each car was  custom ordered and had many different types of factory options to choose from.

Best regards

Ronnie

Do enjoy that very handsome machine

These cars add a lot of luxury creature comforts ( the cloud nine ride -like no other )  -big time fun ( people magnet ) and  a sense of style to our lives like nothing else can

Most fun with your clothes  on —LOL !

America’s best —in the years when —America built things with the mentality to last as long as is possible

Those days are long gone but the products of those times are still around ——and you own one of them  !

Enjoy

Thanks all, glad to add this Fleetwood to the fleet, it's a little rougher then it looks in the picture, it was sitting out for awhile. It will look good in the shop next to my white Fleetwood.

Hey Ronnie, I think I just got a stiffy. :-) LOL

What colour interior? A white Fleetwood with light blue trim followed our Fleetwood off the ass line..... highly unlikely that's it, but ya never know.

The good thing with white, is, in the correct lighting, they look as straight as an arrow. In the wrong lighting, not so much. Our Fleetwood rides with dents, dings and stone chips as badges of honour.

Now, before ya think I can't spell.... colour, honour and the likes, are spelt with a U down under.

Geez that car looks good.... pleased for you Ronnie.

It is white with light blue interior, build date of 1-9-64, it had a re-paint by previous owner in 2014 .

Not the sister car then..... ours was born on the March 25th 1964.

OH —two of them !!

Thats twice as GOOD

Sweet white Fleetwood you have there

Enjoy

Where do the flashers go in my 64 Deville Convert.  I'm thinking that's why both turn signals stopped working.

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 2 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm

Fuel loss in Carburetor

Posted by Ian Osborne on December 29, 2018 at 11:24pm 16 Comments

Lately if I haven't started my '63 in four or five days it seems that the carburetor has gone dry. The starter cranks for an extended period of time and the engine doesn't come close to firing. I have resorted to pouring a little fuel into the carb to save the starter and battery. This gets it started and it runs fine. It also starts fine after sitting a short while - a couple hours or so.

The fuel pump is new and there is always fuel in the glass bowl of the fuel filter. This, along…

I would like to upholster my caddy back to original.   Does anyone know where I can look at some pictures or photos.  Also, how hard is it to remove the dash?  thanks
