My cadillac has certain electrical issues that I want to get to the bottom of.

The lights in the dashboard don't work (gauges and radio) although the map light and glovebox lights work.

The electric seats aren't working either, neither do the indicators.

I've checked the bulbs in the dash and there is no power going to the switch for the seat. I've checked the fuse box below the dash and no fuses are gone.

Any other suggestions that may be obvious before I start taking things apart? I was hoping it'd be a single fuse that did the lights and the power seats, but no luck! Ha.

James, you have a few problems.

1. dash lights inop

2. power seat inop.

3. what indicators?

1. check the fuses, as the fuse may be blown. If it is good, then check the headlight switch for power going to the gray wire when the headlight pull switch is at the first detent.

2. Where is the seat switch. In the door or on the seat.  I believe that the power seat feed is plugged into the side of the fuse panel.

I've checked the fuses under the dashboard and they all seem to be good.

The headlights work fine, so I didn't think it would be the headlight switch, reckon it's worth checking it anyways?

The headlight switch has a few functions other than the headlights. It also controls the dash lights and dome lights.

There could be a corroded contact in the headlight switch, where the rheostat joins the main body of the switch. or the rheostat could be blown.

I do repair the headlight switches, as these are hard to find, and they are expensive when found.

Ah, ok. I'll have a look at that tomorrow cheers.

Would it be a case of me send you mine and you repair it, or I buy a repaired one from you and send you mine? I only ask as this is my daily drive and I'm in the UK

Radiator And Shrouds

Posted by Dominic Salemi on April 24, 2019 at 3:36pm 1 Comment

Hello

Anyone have a decent radiator and shrouds and hardware for a 1964 Cadillac deville. I have an alum. radiator and I'm deciding on to fix it or back to the original one. If I fix it I won't need parts.

Thanks

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…
