Anyone know where to pick up a harmonic balancer for a 63’ with 390 motor? I have a strange vibration in Park when I hold the pedal at a steady rpm. I’m thinking that may be the issue

Why do you think it is the balancer causing the vibration ?
Was it ever replaced before that you know of ?

The engine balancer needs to be balanced with the crankshaft assembly so replacing it could have the same result you have now -- a vibration

Enjoy

Well...that’s good info...no I’ve never replaced it....any ideas of what it could be if that’s not what it is?

I have a good balancer with a repair sleeve included.

Shoot me an email with your zip code for a shipping quote.   russ85747@hotmail.com

When was the tune brought up to spec with all new parts Last time ?

A good tune will be the very best thing to have the engine run smooth as is possible ( reduce vibration )

With that done you can look for the next possible solution

grab the fan  blade and see if it moves front to back as your water pump bearing might be going bad

Condition of motor and trans mounts ?

engines will move around more in there seat if they are out of tune or a plug is fouling for example due to lack of maintenance which is 6,000 miles for our year cars

it is a very short interval compared to today car maintenance schedules

Enjoy

Upper A Arm Rubber Bumpers

Posted by Gene McIlroy on August 12, 2019 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

I have found a very good replacement part for the Upper A Arm Bumpers.  The top part is identical to the originals the bottom can be used as is or after a few minutes with a belt sander can be ground to the V shape as the originals were.  The replacement bumpers are for a 2001 to 2005 S10 Sanoma or Blazer.  Part number is on the box in the photos.  First photo is the box next to the box is the S10 part and an original.  Next photo shows my sanded down part next to an original.…
