Happy Summer Caddy folks!

I am searching for original looking seat upholstery for my 64 Series 62 coupe. Sure I know you can buy NOS cloth from SMS and have a local shop (this is rural Indiana, what is an upholstery shop?) sew them up and hope they fit OR you can go to USA supply or Kanter and buy a "close but no cigar" cover that fits, looks nice but just isn't original. Does anyone know of another supplier that will make the covers and let yours truly install them in his own garage? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

There is a website that mentions that they make seat covers, but there are no pictures. I haven't heard any reviews from anybody that purchased them. Here's a link for the DeVille coupe seat covers.  http://www.profitautointeriors.com/products/Cadillac/Seat-Covers--F...

I will check this out, thanks!  I have seen some really nice aftermarket stuff but I am trying to keep it stock.  Funny coming from the guy that put a 500 cid engine in it huh?

I love custom cars, but the stock interior in '64 was immaculate. Glad to see you're keeping the interior stock.

Yeah, I bought the car from the original owner and have the service records all the way back to day 1. When the engine blew, I was going to replace it but there are so many more parts for that "Big Cad" 500 that I just had to kill myself putting it in!  He bought a fully loaded series 62 which cost more than the base CdV. I asked him why he did so to which he responded, "I liked the interior better in the 62."  How could I argue with that and just up and change the thing after 53 years!!

I bought the materials from SMS. Took more than three months before they shipped it. But it was worth it.

Then I took the rear and front sofa to a upholstery company. After a few months it was ready and I could mount the seats after a new carpet installed. On my original front seat there was not a crest...

STUNNING!!!!!!  Wow that is so pretty!!!  Yeah SMS did my door panels for my Caddy and Chev Biscayne.  They take FOREVER but man, they are worth every penny!  I may have to find a place in Ft.Wayne that can do upholstery, you have inspired me!

Do you know how many yards of the cloth and vinyl you purchased? Thanks Dave

Invoice from SMS doesn't say. So I don't know.

Just wanted to update everyone on this post. Love 'em or hate 'em (I've heard both versions)  SMS will make door panels, quarter panels and seat upholstery sewn to factory standards to be installed by owner or local shop!  Yes, they will do these for '64 series 62 coupe and 4 doors.  Mind you I will have to sell a LOT of blood to pay for them but at least the results will look factory fresh. If I place my order and pay now I will probably see these bad dudes completed by March 2018 but I'm going for it. As we used to say in the Navy...stand by to stand by.....

SMS makes their fabric, it is not NOS.  I get all my fabric from them, it is top quality.  I just got back my door panels from them. They said a 3 moth turn around time, and that they can duplicate the factory top panel on the 63.

9 months into the wait, they call me and say they can not duplicate the 63 top panel, but that they can do a vinyl overlay.

The door panels look great, but they laid out a line of bull shit 6 months long, and didn't do what the said they could do.

its absurd that it takes 3 months,, six months, to do that.. hell,, you can build a house in that period of time...

Does anyone know where I can purchase headliner for a 64 60 Series it has Black and Grey seats with Grey Dash and Black and Grey door panels. I’m unsure of the original color of the headliner I’m sure it was cloth but all I can find is vinyl. I’d like to keep it as original as possible but it looks like it came with white cloth. If grey was an option I’d rather do that only if it was an option. Thank You.

Radiator And Shrouds

Posted by Dominic Salemi on April 24, 2019 at 3:36pm 1 Comment

Hello

Anyone have a decent radiator and shrouds and hardware for a 1964 Cadillac deville. I have an alum. radiator and I'm deciding on to fix it or back to the original one. If I fix it I won't need parts.

Thanks

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…
