Do you have a future date when you will be back on - Both feet again ?
Hoping that will be sooner than later

Best Regards ,

Tony, It has been about 5 weeks since surgery to reattach the right quadriceps to the knee and healing is going well and a bit ahead of schedule. I have to wear a leg brace to keep leg locked except when I am doing stretches and exercise and PT, however, I can support weight and move around well except I am like Chester on Gunsmoke hobbling around. I am becoming more active and starting to dig out for the foundation footings of our new house addition and filled 5 gorilla carts with dirt and dumped today. I am now using a riding mower to haul over to the field where I am dumping dirt so that makes that part easier. I would not be able to pull that heavy cart right now.  As the doctor told me I let pain tell me when I am overdoing it.  When my leg starts throb and ache a bit I know it is time to back off.

One indication of progress is how much I can bend my knee.  I started at about 15 degrees right after surgery, and needed to be at about 90 degrees at the end of next week and was at 95 degrees last Monday.  I have a strict regimen of stretches & exercises I do at home and have even come up with a couple on my own in our clawfoot tub! LOL  I expect to be coming out of the brace in another month or two. I'm getting there!

I think the hardest I have worked since the surgery was running a 75ft 18" trench from my house to street to put in new water supply line replacing 3/4" PB with 1" PEX, and adding a 4" storm drain from the house. Those two might tasks were done on Christmas Day and my Birthday (Dec 26!). So I may be still healing but I am keeping busy when not catching up on my reading!

 Thanks for asking.

Happy birthday
Looks like you are coming along just fine and ahead of shedule
All great

Enjoy

Here's a pictures of the 75 foot, 18" trench I dug on Christmas day and laid a supply line and storm water drain in Dec 26.  I might be in a leg brace and hobbling around but I'm gonna find a way to get'er done!

Must be nice not to have to go deep! Here in northern Minnesota, Those lines would have to be 9 feet deep to keep from freezing! I'm jealous.

Our Frost line is only about 8" here in my location. I actually went about 1' deeper than code down to 18". The supply line I replaced was about 12 to 14" down.  It is funny but regardless of where I dig in my yard or under our house we have about 1' of topsoil, 1' of light tan to orange clay, then really orange/red clay below 2'.

You must be feeling pretty good to be doing as much physical work as you are getting done
Hard to keep a good MAN DOWN !!

Enjoy

Where do the flashers go in my 64 Deville Convert.  I'm thinking that's why both turn signals stopped working.

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 2 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm

Fuel loss in Carburetor

Posted by Ian Osborne on December 29, 2018 at 11:24pm 16 Comments

Lately if I haven't started my '63 in four or five days it seems that the carburetor has gone dry. The starter cranks for an extended period of time and the engine doesn't come close to firing. I have resorted to pouring a little fuel into the carb to save the starter and battery. This gets it started and it runs fine. It also starts fine after sitting a short while - a couple hours or so.

The fuel pump is new and there is always fuel in the glass bowl of the fuel filter. This, along…

I would like to upholster my caddy back to original.   Does anyone know where I can look at some pictures or photos.  Also, how hard is it to remove the dash?  thanks
