I am very interested in learning all you can tell me and the community about your engine swap to the 2019 LS2 L96 Silverado engine and 6L90 trans you installed in your 63

Any details you could provide about HP cubic inches and costs involved Etc especially since you did drive the stock 390 in the car as well for comparison ( sure there is little )

There have been others who have considered  doing a swap of this kind

Being able to connect the stock creature comforts of the 63 would be another interest of mine

The stock engines for these cars will be more  and more difficult to be using as time marches on

Thanks in advance for any info you can offer

Hi all,

Sorry I missed this question yesterday.  Some great questions and I am happy to share all the details in excruciating detail, if you'd all like.  The original 390 that was in my 63 was not untouched prior to me acquiring it.  A rebuild had been done about 8-10 years before and at some point the original 4-speed automatic transmission was swapped out for a 64's 3-speed auto.  I say all this because I would have kept closer to original had the work of mismatching the powerplant and drive train not already started.  I have a lot of receipts and inventory of all that was involved in getting to a finished product.  The engine and transmission were easy to source - required fabricating mounts, enlarging the transmission tunnel and ordering a newly machined custom driveshaft.  Plus 3-4 dozen assorted parts from different performance / custom manufacturers.  I'll detail this with some pictures tonight. It's worth it for me to write out the whole story and I hope you'll find it worthwhile to read.

That is wonderful and looking very much forward to the details

Thanks and Stay Safe
