Hello All,

Jumped into the mobile after a long winters nap and she shakes!! at or above speeds of about foury mph she shakes like the wheels are out of balance, so I had them rebalanced, still the same. Ran engine looked under the hood nothing out of the ordinary seems to stand out. Before I start throwing a ton of money at this thing does this sound somewhat familiar to any of you. Need a few more precise area to look at so I'm not looking all over and wasting time. Any and all help appreciated.

Thanks,

Ron

Are you talking about a mobile home or a Cadillac ?

Enjoy

Sorry Everyone, 1963 6200 series, 390 V8.

Drive it to get the tires hot and back into shape. Sounds like thwe tires developed a flat spot. Are the radials or bias ply?

Russ

Flat spots developing on the tires from sitting was my first thought like you but that would have been seen by the tire guy who rebalanced his tires for him
So i think that possibility was addressed and not the issue In this case

Can you determine if the shaking is more at the front back or center of the car

In front of you or behind you

Does it at all feel ---like the engine is running rough when you are at fourty MPH or is the engine running smooth ?
If the engine is rough change the dist cap and rotor
They get damaged easily by mositure which can happen when the car sits
The moisture and electrical current damages the caps terminals
That would cause the engine to be moving around and possibly missfiring the plugs

If engine is smooth at speed disregard the above
Could be a driveshaft universal joint or center bearing problem of the drivetrain that just showed itself with your last outing

Shaking seems to be in the front of the car. Always keep an extra distributor cap in the trunk, Ill change that first. Engine seems to be running smooth when shaking occurs. Will check plugs and wire although she does not have missing problems. Move on to get her off ground and shake/check drive shaft.

Thanks

Was getting ready to start working on car and just happened to glance at rear tire!!!

Looks like you found the problem
Assume the tire came apart after the new balancing you did

Be happy as that is an easy less expensive fix than could be otherwise

Do replace the two tires on the same axel if at all possible

Often tires with the same size rating can have different tire heights - as much as one inch --so look for that

Gonna get her some new tires all the way around, better Safe than sorry.......

BABY --needs a new pair of shoes !!!

Walmart had good tires for our cars a few years ago

I think they are running a hoiiday sale if they still have them

Might be a good time to buy as the tariffs are coming to increase the bottom line on our purchases from China

Enjoy

That's forward thinking, spend while prices are low........ I like it. Will do online at take a look now.

Everyone Enjoy the Holiday.........

Upper A Arm Rubber Bumpers

Posted by Gene McIlroy on August 12, 2019 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

I have found a very good replacement part for the Upper A Arm Bumpers.  The top part is identical to the originals the bottom can be used as is or after a few minutes with a belt sander can be ground to the V shape as the originals were.  The replacement bumpers are for a 2001 to 2005 S10 Sanoma or Blazer.  Part number is on the box in the photos.  First photo is the box next to the box is the S10 part and an original.  Next photo shows my sanded down part next to an original.…
