Yesterday, i decided to go to a testicle festival up here in MT and it was the first longer drive i have taken since getting back up here.  I had it strapped down on a 20 ft trailer for the journey on the axles.

I did  notice a drift to the right when i got bak up here, if i let go of the wheel, it would pull right,  not on brake, but on cruise,  i also noted at take off and at slower speed. the car feels like it is rolling lopsided, like a tire has bulge in it or a lop sided wheel,, I'm guess you can guess what i trying to convey, but as you speed up, it goes away.

Yesterday, about 20 miles into my 40 mile trip,  i got a good bit of wheel shake between 50 and 60.  if i got down to 45 or 48, it went away,, or, it i really got it up about 60 plus, it mostly went away,, so, i just kept on at at about 45 to 50,  as i got along, i began to slip up to the 50s, and there was no vibration,, 60 no vibration, 70 no vibration.

it was really odd.  for 20 miles, even a creep into the 50s and it would vibrate pretty good.  and then, seemingly out of the blue, it just quit,  and, it did not show up on the way home..due to lots of wildlife on the road, i didnt go above 55 and it was dark, so i didnt really push looking for a the shake.

The pull to the right is still definitely there.

so,, the lop sided rolling feeling, what is a likely culprit here?

the pull to the right,, ??   the vibration,

could i have pulled it out of alignment when i strapped it down for the haul back up here.  would these all be related to one problem,   ? would an alignment be the first step or or a tire check?

other than that, the car ran good, engine wise,

I use Mastercraft on our Fleetwood as well.

Nice quiet tyre, good feel in wet or dry.

It sounded like dodgy tyres from day 1, with age, they go out of shape and delaminate.

Well it really made a diffrence.  The handling feels a littke better.  Just overall much better ride.   I was amazed it completely cured that pull to the right.   I mean  not a twitch of pull.  The tires were 10 years old the tire man told me.  They had decent tread, just got warped i guess..Thanks again

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
