Hey gang Im a newby to the vintage Caddy group and need some reliable recommended parts sources for both new & used for my '64
Hood stops and window regulators are at the top of the list for now.
Would love to get my clock working again, read that the oil needed to be changed in it from time to time LOL
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have a huge selection of good used parts. I even carry some new parts I had made up for the 63/64. I also have refurbished clocks. What I have now is a very good condition refurbished clock for 140.00 The chrome is great, and the clock was refurbished by a clocksmith.
Rubber pieces can be found at rubbertherightway.com steelerubber.com Regulators usually don't go bad, it is usually dirty dried up grease in the tracks of the windows, and the main gear on the power window motor.
Check out my site www.1963caddyshack.com Shoot me an email if you need anything.
Thanks Russ I will for sure check out the site! This might sound weird but I'd really like to try and fix the clock that's in it so I can say it's the original but if that all goes south I'll for sure reach out.
I understand about the dried up window tracks. I haven't taken it apart yet so I'm not really sure but the front windows cock out of alignment when going up so I have to hold them in line and then they go up ok, going down seems fine. Rear window seems to be sticking and the drivers side wing window doesn't work at all so I have a few issues to work on.
Steele Rubber (www.steelerubber.com) sells the hood bumpers complete with the adjustment stud/screw for $7.90 each. (See below for catalog #). You might check the big name usual suspects such as USA Parts & Supply, OPGI, Kanter, McVeys, Rock Auto … all listed on our parts supplier page at www.parts.6364cadillac.com
I have large selection of the Coupe/Conv door regulators in VG condition for $55 and good strong tested and cleaned and regreased window motors for$ 45, or $90 for the regulator/motor pair. If interested email me at email@example.com.
Many thanks Jason! Nice to know somebody has the parts if need be! I'll get this thing apart and see what it needs exactly. I also have issues to work out with the A/C controller on the dash. The previous owner has managed to change things around. It only blows out of the vents when the lever is pushed all the way over to defrost. When I do that the compressor kicks on (thats a good thing haha) and it blows out of the dash vents not the defrost vents. The system still has freon in it so again thats a good thing but I think the expansion valve is bad. I'm guessing the vents deal is a vacuum issue.
I will check our your website for sure!
Rockauto.com will be about the cheapest for new parts. Whatever they dont have Russ and Jason have been selling to 6364 members for a long time. They are an excellent resource as well as a few other members. Ebay be my last resort for a few things.
Thanks for taking the time to recommend the guys above, I appreciate it and I'm sure they do as well!
