Having trouble getting to controlling power windows from driver and passengers seat controllers.

Can only operate windows from DRIVERS controls with lockout switch in EMERGENCY POSITION.

Just  replaced power window relay with a known working relay-- still not working in any position other than emergency.

QUESTIONS::  What COLOR WIRE  lead is supposed to operate the Power Window relay. Which color wire leads are cut through the relay contact AND is /which one of them is the hot lead side ?

Thanks

Tom

Looks like i called this one
Glad you are on your way to solve your window issue
Enjoy having the power windows working

Do be looking for wiring that is broken under its covering
Bending the wire around a bit will show broken spots under the wire covering if they exist

Enjoy

Tony,

Sure does. Will be replacing that section AND checking all the other PRIOR repairs to those wires while I am at it.  55 year old wires -- many still with cloth tape falling off.

Thanks for the help. Gave me an opportunity to understand how the power to the windows works- well worth the effort. May have been a fire waiting to happen too.

Still need to clean up wiring in both passenger side  and rear drivers side after the drivers.

Tom

Many of my wire and soldering skills have been developed by building and flying large RC aircraft for 23 years
I have had an interest in flying model aircraft since i was 14 years old ( 74 now )
In NY i was flying RC aircraft with the engineers from Gruman and Speary aircraft factories on Long Island
The boys were building space shuttles during the week and flying RC aircraft in there leasure time and on weekends
These guys were all about Flying stuff as you could imagine !

The gentelman that does all the aluminum welding work on my sons race boat did most of the construction on the first space shuttle to the moon and many other combat aircraft

When we need something done we go right to --the head of the class --when doing any research on a given subject to share our passion for that subject

Enjoy

My brother had that interest in flying model gas powered planes as well. They built planes and had competition and shows near teterboro airport in NJ when we were teens. Got me interested in building planes and model boats as well. He had the flying ability especially for the control line planes.

So today I get back to the wiring in my daughters 64 deville convert. Very poor connections yet--a step at a time.

Thanks to all for the help!

Tom

Starter Solenoid replacement-how difficult? Where to buy?

Posted by Norman Silverman on August 20, 2019 at 8:24pm 8 Comments

Hello All.

I believe the starter solenoid has gone bad in my 64 DeVille. When I turn the key, often all I get is a click, then if I try a few times again the starter turns perfectly. All battery cables are on tight and the battery is good. So, I believe this problem is the solenoid. Where do I buy the right solenoid and is it necessary to remove the starter in order to swap it out? …

Upper A Arm Rubber Bumpers

Posted by Gene McIlroy on August 12, 2019 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

I have found a very good replacement part for the Upper A Arm Bumpers.  The top part is identical to the originals the bottom can be used as is or after a few minutes with a belt sander can be ground to the V shape as the originals were.  The replacement bumpers are for a 2001 to 2005 S10 Sanoma or Blazer.  Part number is on the box in the photos.  First photo is the box next to the box is the S10 part and an original.  Next photo shows my sanded down part next to an original.…
