hi everyone , I have a 63 coupe that I have rebuilt the 390 engine. Long story short, after getting it all together and in the car, I started to prime to oil pump with a drill and socket, and I wasn’t getting oil up to the top end , or out of the oil pressure sending unit hole , (as in Jason’s video). Come to find out, the machine shop installed the rear camshaft bearing wrong. Fixed that, put it back together and also installed a oil pressure gauge . While priming the pump again, I am now getting oil flow up to the heads. ,it squits out of the rockers a little bit, but I’m not reading any oil pressure on the gauge, at all.. say like on a Chevy 350, I figured it would read about the same . Any help is appreciated.
There should be 25-30 psi at the sending unit port. Talk to the rebuilder about a fix.
