ok, sounds good, i haven't removed anything,

i did go and get the block tester tools,, the one were the blue water turns yellow if exhaust gases are in the coolant. i also started itup with top off, and never did get the bubbles or overflow spew i saw on the the internet. also, the blue water on the block tester never did change color, stayed a nice light blue, no green no yellow, so, i am guessing that i am good with the head gasket fear,,,

thanks for all the help,, as usual I have run the gamut of testing and doing stuff, so hopefully, if there is a next time,, i can diagnose clearly on my own, thanks for al the help.

Kim sometimes people remove their thermostat thinking it will help the engine run cooler. All that will happen is whitish gunk forming under the valve cover. The oil and engine doesn't get hot enough to heat off internal engine condensation. Condensation in also a by product of combustion that also builds up if not getting the engine hot. It can lead to a miss diagnosis of a blown head gasket.

not one to leave well enough alone, and curious, i saw a guy on the internet testing his oil for water,, so, under the theory that oil is stable up to several hundreds of degrees,, and water boils off at 212,, he put some oil in a aluminum can, maybe a table spoon on a stove and heated it up.. well, it smoked and then, water in the oil began to dance around the aluminum can, as it was boiling off.

well, i thought huh, looks like a easy fun deal,, i hooked it up, put some in a piece of tin foil, put about a table spoon on there and waited.. well, i definitely got smoke, smoked the whole house up, but, no water dance,, so, while not a chemist, felt good about there being no water in my sample, now, i know its not a tried an true test,or if it is even legit, so i am skeptical, but i am continually amazed at what people come up with out in the world to test stuff..
Clovis, is this what you are…tag:6364cadillac.ning.com,2018-01-15:6543066:Comment:1701242018-01-15T02:56:28.461ZKim K Kaiserhttps://6364cadillac.ning.com/profile/KimKKaiser

i will take Clovis advice first with the glasses as its probably the cheapest and quickest, hoping that it checks out as a flouresent dye, but if not, whats left

i have tested the pressure with a gauge, and it held, no overheating, no antifreeze fluid loss, oil is a avocado green, in one consistency, it does not separate out as I would expect two different weighted fluids would, as in the picture with oil and antifreeze did, almost immediately . not milky white as i read on this…

Kim, your engine is fine. If you had water in your oil it would be milky junk. It will not be green from antifreeze. I stated in an earlier response to put on some yellow glasses and if it was florescent green it's the dye. This is how they find leaks when an engine is a bit dirty. They use the dye with a flashlight and yellow glasses. The flashlight is special in that it make even the smallest amount of dye glow bright green. This is the same process used to find a/c leaks. I added some to my system when I redid it this spring. It's harmless and will take a few oil changes to get it all out.
