What is the best way to restore cowl vent? I think to rechrome cowl vent is not easy and costly.

They can be rechromed, but believe it will be costly. I have a lot of sets from the 49 parts cars I have pulled in but most are average with the typical small pitting you see between the grates. I have a few that are closer to VG, a little better than yours but need to take a hard look at what I have. I do have a very pristine set I have been holding for a long time and have been debating if I wanted to use those on my 64 CDV or send a set out for new chrome.  Either way, they can be rechromed but will be expensive. I would probably sell my pristine set for $150.   I also sell the good to VG grills for $25 each or $50 for  a set. Perhaps Russ or someone else has more pristine examples but I just don't see many in that condition on our humid East Coast.  As far as new chrome I would make a wild guess at about $300 to $350. Perhaps someone has sent in a set and can let us know what they paid.

A good set on Ebay would probably cost that much Jason. Since it's such a prominent piece 300 wouldn't be that bad if the rest of the car is near perfect.

email me and I'll see what I have.  If I have a good set, 75.00

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…

Where do the flashers go in my 64 Deville Convert.  I'm thinking that's why both turn signals stopped working.

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 4 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm
