First post, been lurking for a long time though! I'm hoping someone is able to tell me how many turns lock to lock the steering is in a stock '63??

Reason is I have the steering box out being rebuilt/modified and they're able to alter it to take into account the larger wheels/tires to stop them hitting the fenders at full lock, one of the dimensions they asked for was original turns lock to lock which I missed getting....

Any help would be appreciated!!

I do not have the answer but very interesting that that qqservice is available
First time i know of altering the steering box for the tire rub

Yeah it'll be interesting to see how it turns out, they're going to rebuild it with a different ratio and 'firm feel valving' as well so it'll basically be like a late model chev silverado etc. They're very well regarded so fingers crossed!

i believe its 3 or 3.5 lock to lock. 1 full turn plus half to the left and one full turn plus half to the right.

Cool thanks Chris!!

Unless you're sideways in the wet with oncoming traffic, then its about a 100 turns lock to lock. :-)

Where do the flashers go in my 64 Deville Convert.  I'm thinking that's why both turn signals stopped working.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Fuel loss in Carburetor

Lately if I haven't started my '63 in four or five days it seems that the carburetor has gone dry. The starter cranks for an extended period of time and the engine doesn't come close to firing. The fuel pump is new and there is always fuel in the glass bowl of the fuel filter. This, along…

I would like to upholster my caddy back to original.   Does anyone know where I can look at some pictures or photos.  Also, how hard is it to remove the dash?  thanks
