I got my transmission done at a shop and noticed that it's leaking worst than when I brought it in, I'm just confused on why it's still leaking could it be from not having a flex plate cover on it? Where could it be leaking from? I replaced the fluid on it and it's leaking fresh so it couldn't be the old fluid I uploaded some pictures.

P.s I towed it home from the shop due to no registrations and drove it up into my garage and parked it and hasn't moved ever since.

I used the Blue Devil Transmission Sealer on a tip from the restoration shop. So far so good.

The very best trans additive story i have is to put a can of STP oil treatment into a four speed trans
The sycros mesh so smooth it is an amazing experience ( like butter )

Have never used it in an automatic trans though

Enjoy

Noticed a bid puddle under the transmission.  Haven't driven the car in months.  Strange that a seal gave out just sitting in the garage.

Get the car to operating temp and with the engine at idle check the level of trans fluid
You may just be over full and leaking
Worth a look

Enjoy

If you are down fluid you would have to get back to your trans rebuilding people

Enjoy

Frank,

The parts need to be used to work properly. The seals shrink slightly when the car sits this is normal. Cold weather could make it worse. Try Blue Devil Transmission sealer. It worked in my ‘69 and I just put it in my ‘64 that had all new seals but started to seep from lack of use.

If the torus converter check valve is leaking, then the fluid will drain back into the transmission when sitting. The trans will overfill and leak.

Jeff
Please Keep us posted on the trans sealer you are using and your results for the longer haul
Never heard of that brand
It would be wonderful to know a product that would really work to seal the trans and prevent or reduce any leaking

My own experience that is very limited was not a good one
I bought a sealer for my power sterring years ago ( no idea the brand at this time ) and almost as soon as i added it all the fluid ran out of the power steering and had to replace the power steering unit in my 69 CDV

Enjoy

Just google it n Amazon and read the reviews.

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…

Where do the flashers go in my 64 Deville Convert.  I'm thinking that's why both turn signals stopped working.

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 4 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm
