Thought I might throw some trivia questions out there starting with one I think was posted a couple years back.
Trivia Question #1: What Percentage of 1963 Model Year Cadillacs came with AC?
Tags:
Now, for the 2nd part of this Trivia Question ....
What Percentage of 1963 Model Year Lincolns came with AC?
Lincoln had a 64% rate in 1961 over Cadillac @ 52%
So, if in 1963, Cadillac had 66% as we all now know, because I've googled this and can't find it, i'll take an educated guess and say 75%.
If Cadillac was up 11%, ya give the same to Lincoln = 75% and on a final thought, i'll throw 3% at it for good luck.
FINAL ANSWER= 78%
Kevin, you are super close... super, super, super close... but No Cigar. hint... it is actually higher!
ps... here are some more exact #'s for Cadillacs with AC from 1961 to 1963:
1961 - 51.7
1962 - 59.4
1963 - 66.0
Tony, if you don't want to play that is fine. The point in the 2nd part of the question was the fact that a considerably higher % of Lincolns came with AC, than Cadillac. As stated 66.0 % of 1963 Cadillacs had AC. So far we have established that some # greater than 78% of 1963 Lincolns had AC. I found that fact interesting to say the least. I would have guessed a higher % of Cadillacs had AC. But when someone nails down the final #, I will have a 3rd observation between the 2 makes.
We have a winner.... .CLOVIS! CLOVIS! CLOVIS!
79.4% of the 1963 Lincolns came with AC.
That's a 13.4% difference from Cadillac......
...... but......
There were a lot more AC units put in Cadillacs since their production numbers were much higher than Lincoln.
Of the 163,174 1963 Cadillacs produced, 107,695 came equipped with AC.
Of the 33,192 1963 Lincolns produced, 24,799 came equipped with AC.
So Lincoln has a considerably higher % of cars with AC, but approximately 80,000 more Cadillac drivers were riding around with AC than their Lincoln counterparts.
Don't laugh at Tony, I suspect Ginny has hidden the ol boys walking frame again. LOL
Should have bought a Fleetwood... ya tight arse. :-)
They are, very comfortable. I've done a 600 klm plus day in ours and was all good.
I wonder if a Lincoln would ride better..... hmmm, I might have to look into that.
Hey Tony, ya grumpy old bastard, you know of any Lincolns for sale? PMSL

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
