Hi guys,

I just signed up here, thanks for letting me in :)

About 10 yrs ago I helped an acquaintance moving out of his storage and I came across this thing.
It's a '64 (I believe) Sedan deVille, with a glass/acrylic roof.

First I didn't believe what I saw, I took some pictures with probably the best camera phone one could get in 2009 or so :) hence the grainy sasquatch pictures.

Anyway, I tried to find some information on it, and someone told me that it could be a car displayed on the World Fair in '64/65 or so, and only a hand full were made.
Not sure on that story though, I couldn't verify.

Maybe it's 'just' a custom built wedding car (since it's a four door), but it's unique for sure.
As far as I can recall it's not in bad shape, but the front and engine are missing, and so are a lot of small bits.
The glass part seems to be in a very well made shape representing the original roof line.
It looked to be in good shape as well, but theres a layer of dust on it so hard to judge.

So, I'm hoping for some more information on this one, I might want to buy it since it would make a hell of a nice car, or maybe assist in selling it for the owner to get it to the right person for it.

Time for some pics

Never seen that before, can you access the body tag?

No, but I might later on

It started life as a Fleetwood 60 Special. Note the left rear door vent window assembly. Also the Fleetwood-only moulding lying on the car at the base of the "C pillar" on the right side.

Pretty wild looking thing.... you know you have to restore it, don't you.

Yes, but I have more projects like that :)

A wash and a rinse and good to go...    ;-)

Is it real glass or is it a plexiglass type of material? That's a really amazing find and I've never seen anything like it. A car this unique should definitely be brought back to life. It would be a showstopper.

I'll try to have a look in the next couple of weeks and post some updates, thanks so far :)
