just wanted to share a problem I had with the Fleetwood since I purchased it back in April. It ended up being an incorrect or faulty torque converter.
Previous owner had tailshaft balanced and new harmonic balancer installed. I took all the belts off to no avail, had the carby checked, full engine tune, checked exhaust. Engine snd trans mounts we also replaced previously. This was doing my head in to the point I wouldn’t drive it, I could barely look at it! Some old school guys at Pro Automatics took a look at it and said “I reckon it’s in the TC”and it was. It had s Blue JA7 which was a Jaguar part number. The guys put a heavy duty one on from a later modelTH 400 and all fixed. The car had shakes through engine (at all RPM) and anything above 35 was shaking the whole car. If it wasn’t for this it would have been an engine out and balance. Now all the other little things are insignificant!
just thought I would share, cheers Shane
we feeling a tad happier now.... hmmm....hmmm.
