Lower Window Channel - [New] Solution Found

I'm currently in the process of "rebuilding" my drivers door.  I'm replacing ALL rubber, fixing broken wires in the door jamb, and replacing the chrome frame around the window as well as the lower window base channel.  I at first tried to source a used lower window channel but then discovered you can buy them new from OPGI because the same part is used on a 61-64 Pontiac Grand Prix. The part numbers must be different as the cross-reference doesn't support them being the same, but I took a gamble…See More

Door Seals

I was curious about door seals for our cars.  Should there be a plastic retainer in the door into which the door seal slides?  The Rubber the Right Way guy thought there should be some plastic retainers as with the early 60's models but they're too big.  When I bought the car someone had already replaced the gasket but it keeps pulling out of the holes in the door (thus why the RTRW) guy thought I'd need the plastic clips.  I again tried replacing the door seals but it doesn't seem like the…See More

Since I've owned my car I've always had trouble getting the top to latch properly as it wasn't "forward" enough.  After researching the owners manual I adjusted the front cross piece (with the latches that mount to the top of windshield).  I think…

'64 speaker locations

Posted on July 28, 2015 at 4:54am 2 Comments

Does a 64 convertible only have the one speakerin the back seat behind the chrome grill? I see the spotup front on top of the dash but it doesn't look like a speaker goes there.

For you guys looking to add quality sound, where do you put speakers? I see there are some under-seat units that kook interesting.

Thanks,

David

Radiator And Shrouds

Posted by Dominic Salemi on April 24, 2019 at 3:36pm 1 Comment

Hello

Anyone have a decent radiator and shrouds and hardware for a 1964 Cadillac deville. I have an alum. radiator and I'm deciding on to fix it or back to the original one. If I fix it I won't need parts.

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…
