"A 1.5 Ohm coil will produce less voltage than a .7 Ohm coil but is safe to use with a point ignition or a Pertronix I. A .7 Ohm coil will produce more voltage and a hotter spark and is safe to use with a Pertronix II.  So to answer your…"

Tony and Ginny 429 replied to Edward's discussion Ignition Coil, Resistance, Heat Durable, ignition system
"Just found the answer  The coil must be 1.5 ohms  and the resistor on top of the coil in our cars is 1.5 ohms which equals 3.0 ohms in total that is necessary in a 12v system to operate it correctly "

Dan McNarry replied to Edward's discussion Ignition Coil, Resistance, Heat Durable, ignition system
"Yes, the higher output of the coil is an advantage and will provide a more meaningful spark at the plug. Plugs are also not a place to try and save money either by the way. Before my current setup, I used to run a Pertronix II and an Accel coil…"

I have been doing research online and found a couple websites. Yet I DON'T Trust none. Can someone recommend me a website or such, that they have used , or know the website legit. Also what are the 1964 sedan deville transmission specs? Anything that can help me get my cadillac back to running strong .
