Edelbrock 1406 Carburetor + Parts For Conversion For Sale

Gentlemen,After 31 years I have sold my '63 convertible. Long story short is I got a price I believe was very respectable considering the market right now. That and I am moving on to finish my other project which I have owned even longer, 40 years, my Sunbeam Tiger. Bottom line is I don't have room to garage both of them and all of my other stuff and I wasn't making any progress on the Tiger. It is a rare car and a ton of fun so all of my efforts are going towards it now.I have some extra Caddy…See More

Completely Dead

So after cruising around a bit and waiting in a line, the temp gauge got to a little past half way. I got out of the line and the car just died. It's like there's no battery. The clock has no power, no headlights, no warning lights on the dash with the ignition on. The battery is fresh and reads 12V. Terminals and ground are good. I also get 12V when reading the positive battery terminal and the engine block. Downstream from there,I have nothing. The main positive cable is tight on the solenoid…See More

Fuel loss in Carburetor

Posted on December 29, 2018 at 11:24pm 16 Comments

Lately if I haven't started my '63 in four or five days it seems that the carburetor has gone dry. The starter cranks for an extended period of time and the engine doesn't come close to firing. I have resorted to pouring a little fuel into the carb to save the starter and battery. This gets it started and it runs fine. It also starts fine after sitting a short while - a couple hours or so.

The fuel pump is new and there is always fuel in the glass bowl of the fuel filter. This, along…

'63 Bumpers on L.A. Craigslist

Posted on December 8, 2018 at 1:30am 0 Comments

The front lower ends are gone but what's there looks to be in decent condition and a fair price in today's market. I have no connection, just passing it along in case it might work for someone.

Haven't been here for a while and looking for some parts

Posted on March 30, 2013 at 1:06pm 3 Comments

Hello,

I was a member sometime back when the format was different. I reproduce the door pull courtesy light lenses used in the '63 coupes. I sold a few to members back then and received a few requests for the rear lenses. I would like to start doing those now but need to get a pair of the lamp housings they fit into. If it is alright I would offer them for sale here. I try to sell them at a price that works for both me and the buyer. I am not trying to get rich, just make a…

Bad Guage?

Posted by Karl Schwarz on August 26, 2020 at 3:08pm 6 Comments

So I am troubleshooting my fuel gauge issue. I bought a new sender and tested it. It  it goes from 1-ohm (empty) to 35-ohm (full). When I test it (outside the tank), when the float is in the up (full) position it only moves the gauge to about 1/2 full. When at the bottom (empty) position the gauge shows empty. This is the same issue I have when I fill and then use the gas in the tank - the gauge never reads ore than half full. Based on what I've read on this thread it would seem like the…
