Windshield wiper motor installation

I have a few questions regarding installation of the wiper motor on my 1963 Cadillac.  My wipers were always stopping in the park position the exact opposite of where they were supposed to stop (wipers were stopping in the park position completely vertical instead of horizontal.  I asked my regular mechanic who works on my car to fix this so the wipers stop in the park position at the bottom of the windshield.  He removed the motor and the clip from the motor to the transmission rods broke. …
