"These are 10.5:1 compression. 93 octane, or as close as you can get to 93, should be fine. Doing the octane math, Cadillac recommended a minimum of about 94.5 using the current R+M/2 pump rating method, but 93 should run fine. There is more on…"

1964 - 1965 limousine carry-over question

Posted on April 28, 2013 at 11:21am 1 Comment

Hi, new member here.  I have a 1965 Cadillac limousine which is actually a 1964 body style carry-over.  My question is:  Was the 1964 body style placed on a 1965 commercial chassis?  I'm wondering, because should I purchase a 1964 Service Manual or a 1965 Service Manual (or is there no differences between the two years)?  Thanks.  Jim from Worcester, MA

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
