"There is just an I ring inside the transmission where the tube slides into. Most folks do a RTV sealant bead at the base before installing the tube. Call David Edward transmission parts at 781-449-2065"

If using the stock backerlight blk spacer you need to block off one of the two PVC inlets to the carb as you now have two ( one on top of the other )
You will now have two places to connect your vacuum advance
The best one to use is the one on the drivers side of the carb closing off the other
That will improve your timing advance curve over the stock set up to give you more power thru the RPM range which is another benefit of using the Edelbrock carbs over a stock rebuilt carb ( the performance people )

I assume you removed the intake and blocked off the correct heat passages for the old chock so you can now use the new electric choke

I did have to rejet my carb on my 64 429 as the plugs were burning a bit lean to correct that
The Techs at Edelbrock will tell you what to change for just Asking

A new fresh carb working correctly is a wonderful thing to have on any car restoration

Enjoy

If you have a 63 with the hydromatic trans You will need to make a braket so the trans shifts correctly
If you have the turbo 400 trans you will be fine

The Edelbrock Tuning Guide on page 9 recommends a minimum of 4-5 psi, and a maximum of 6.5 psi on Page 3 of the installation guide.  Your shop manual on page shows fuel pump it idle at 5 1/4 to 6 1/2psi. These carbs are built to work within most stock fuel pump parameters.

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 4 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm
