"Would not a replacement used power steering pump help solve your problem and be a simpler solution than finding parts for the one you have now that may be a problem To locate ? Enjoy"

Power steering pump shaft bushing part #?

Hello everyone,I’m rebuilding the power steering pump on my 63 Park Ave and ran into a problem. The shaft bushing that came in the rebuild kit is slightly larger in diameter than the original. It is stamped F11 like the original but it’s maybe1 mm larger in diameter and won’t press in, I couldn’t set it in to start to press it in. I’m sure someone here can point me in the right direction locating the correct bushing. Thanks KraigSee More

"There is just an I ring inside the transmission where the tube slides into. Most folks do a RTV sealant bead at the base before installing the tube. Call David Edward transmission parts at 781-449-2065"

If using the stock backerlight blk spacer you need to block off one of the two PVC inlets to the carb as you now have two ( one on top of the other )
You will now have two places to connect your vacuum advance
The best one to use is the one on the drivers side of the carb closing off the other
That will improve your timing advance curve over the stock set up to give you more power thru the RPM range which is another benefit of using the Edelbrock carbs over a stock rebuilt carb ( the performance people )

I assume you removed the intake and blocked off the correct heat passages for the old chock so you can now use the new electric choke

I did have to rejet my carb on my 64 429 as the plugs were burning a bit lean to correct that
The Techs at Edelbrock will tell you what to change for just Asking

A new fresh carb working correctly is a wonderful thing to have on any car restoration

Enjoy

If you have a 63 with the hydromatic trans You will need to make a braket so the trans shifts correctly
If you have the turbo 400 trans you will be fine

Kraig, A regulator is not needed for the Edelbrock 1406 unless you are perhaps using an electric pump that pushes the psi above spec. The Edelbrock Tuning Guide on page 9 recommends a minimum of 4-5 psi, and a maximum of 6.5 psi on Page 3 of the installation guide.  Your shop manual on page shows fuel pump it idle at 5 1/4 to 6 1/2psi. These carbs are built to work within most stock fuel pump parameters.

Upper A Arm Rubber Bumpers

Posted by Gene McIlroy on August 12, 2019 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

I have found a very good replacement part for the Upper A Arm Bumpers.  The top part is identical to the originals the bottom can be used as is or after a few minutes with a belt sander can be ground to the V shape as the originals were.  The replacement bumpers are for a 2001 to 2005 S10 Sanoma or Blazer.  Part number is on the box in the photos.  First photo is the box next to the box is the S10 part and an original.  Next photo shows my sanded down part next to an original.…
