This problem is too easy and maybe thats why I can't figure it out so any help would be greatly appreciated! On my 64 convertible, my interior light work from every switch BUT when the right door is opened, everything comes on except the under dash lights. Works fine with the drivers door and the headlight switch. I thought it was something simple such as those horrible door jam switches but when I swapped them out, I had the same problem. I then removed the kick panel and the boot inside the…See More

Tony and Ginny 429 replied to Lorne Marinello's discussion knocking/chirping from timing cover
"In general --chirping is usually related to some type of bearing going bad I think an examination of the crank bearings ( front of engine ) and under the timing cover is in order before putting any more time on the break in of the engine Enjoy"

Tony and Ginny 429 replied to Lorne Marinello's discussion knocking/chirping from timing cover
"Chirping can be a rod bearing gone bad( spun bearing ) sound and a knock can be rod related problem ( crank bearing or wrist pin clearence ) So both are rod related problems it seems Chriping could be a water pump bearing gone bad but does not…"

HVAC Vacuum Valve Clip-need the one for the Power Control side

Posted by Norman Silverman on September 17, 2018 at 8:15pm 6 Comments

Hi.

Update:

I removed both 7 nipple vacuum valves and called my buddy who owns a machine shop. Tomorrow we'll re-surface the valve faces and then I'll reinstall them. HOWEVER, the one that comes out easily and comes apart with no rivet is on the Power module side. It installs on one side with a small bolt, and on the other it is held on by a clip, WHICH IS MISSING ON MY CAR. I am going to assume it is the same clip that is used on the Control Module side. Anybody got one? Happy…

7 vacuum valve-need a good one or someone to recondition mine

Posted by Norman Silverman on September 15, 2018 at 5:44pm 12 Comments
