AC vent restoration question

Looking for help in disassembly of the driver and passenger main AC vents so I can get the housings re-chromed.  The "dial" that controls the damper inside the vent is retained by a pin or set screw.  There is a small hole in the bottom of the vent opening that gives access to the top of this pin, but I cannot see down in there and cannot tell if it is an allen head, flat head, or phillips.  I've tried all but phillips and am headed to the hardware store now to try to find one small enough.…

Interior color codes

I'm repainting the 64 Eldo, going from original Saddle Firemist to the 63 Palomino, which is a brighter gold shade. Would like to change the interior from Sandlewood to White. Does anyone have or know of a good source for paint color codes for the metal dash and front seat trims for a stock white interior? I would also like to know what the possible carpet colors and dash pad colors are correct combinations for the Palomino Exterior, White interior combination..any other tips on how to make… Continue

driveshaft help

can anyone help me with a driveshaft ? I have a 1963 Cadillac 62 series 4dr with the hydro-matic trans. I need the male splined shaft on the front of the rear driveshaft section. the piece with the nut attached by clip.id be willing to buy a shaft if its not horribly priced.

Dash removal

Hello everyone,

On a 63 CDV, if a guy wanted to remove the entire dash to get all the metal painted, and do some other things behind there, how would he go about doing that?  I checked here and the shop manual, but can't find a complete guide.

Carter AFB carburetor question

3655S carb, and a 3656S carb .I know the difference is one is for A/C and the other in for a non A/C car . Now the question is : can I use the carb bowl from the A/C car on the non A/C car ? They look the same set up next to each other
