Have a question for everyone

Posted on February 13, 2016 at 9:30pm 7 Comments

Was informed on Friday that the frame for my 1963 Sedan DeVille was on its way and that this summer would be it's final voyage before it makes the trip to the salvage yard. The car has always been a project for me and I enjoy the looks it gets from people that have never seen such a land yacht before. So my question that is being posed is this, is it possible to buy another frame for the Caddy Sedan from someone like Mr. Edge and mate it to the body I have or is best to keep this one for…

Question

Posted on November 25, 2014 at 2:50pm 4 Comments

The other night on my journey home my 1963 Sedan Deville with the 390 began to run rough. Pulled into the Hess gas station over on Route 31 in Clinton to look at it and see what the problem was and check all the fluids of the car. It was down about a quart of oil so I topped that off and all the other fluids checked out fine. When I started Flo back up to head home it ran a little better but good lord did it smoke something fierce out the driver side exhaust pipe. This has happened before…

Good Afternoon all; I am finally getting back to working on the car after it sitting since last summer. The whole goal of the project is to make this car a vehicle I can enjoy year round through the hot and the cold. With that said when I bought the car the previous owner had removed the heater core lines and plugged up the vacuum ports. I started over the past two weekend removing the old heater core and installing a new one however i made a bad discovery that the metal frame that house the…

64 Recirc/Fresh Air Door Actuator replaced; FROM THE INSIDE.

Posted by Norman Silverman on February 4, 2019 at 11:21pm 8 Comments

I am happy to report that I have successfully replaced the Fresh Air/Recirc door actuator that is located on the blower box-and have done so without having to remove the blower box. I did it by taking out the glove box and attacking it from the back.  It took several days, LOTS of patience and some band-aids, but it is done. THE most difficult part -BY FAR- is to remove and then replace the screw that sits on the actuator arm, connecting it to the fresh…

Source for Motor mounts and Trans mounts 1964 SDV

Posted by Norman Silverman on January 9, 2019 at 4:23pm 4 Comments

Hi.

Where is the best place to purchase good quality motor mounts/trans mounts for my 1964 SDV? I see that Rock Auto has them for $8 and change, and others for $24 and change. Big difference. Is there a better place to buy them from?

Thanks

Norm
