I'm finising up my gas tank project on my 63 and wanted to inquire if the original drain plug for the tank had a copper o-ring as mine does, or if it had something else originally and somebody tried the copper seal deal. My tank stays wet there, at least it did before lining the tank with RED KOTE, which I would recommend if choosing a liner/sealer. I assume if the original is copper it would crush one time and need replaced?? Thanks everyone.
I rolled under my 63 this morning the begin my gas tank removal and I was surprised to see painted on numbers from the factory still very visible on the frame behind the left rear wheel. Is that rare? I have only had my car a few months and am still getting to know her. It's a rock solid, and apparently, always garaged Coupe. I'm having a problem with my courtesy light coming on when the doors are opened. As another member has posted, I can turn the lights on with the headlight switch fine, however nothing comes on with the doors. Thanks to this site and others I have wiring diagrams to follow.
