Gas tank drain plug gasket????

Posted on February 16, 2013 at 5:06pm 3 Comments

I'm finising up my gas tank project on my 63 and wanted to inquire if the original drain plug for the tank had a copper o-ring as mine does, or if it had something else originally and somebody tried the copper seal deal.  My tank stays wet there, at least it did before lining the tank with RED KOTE, which I would recommend if choosing a liner/sealer.  I assume if the original is copper it would crush one time and need replaced??  Thanks everyone.

I started with the drivers' side door jamb switch in my troubleshooting. Pulled it out and it's the 3 wire type with black, black with white tracer and red/white. Using my test light to ground much to my surprise, I have…
