63 Bumper issues

Hello, I have a 63 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. The car was recently rear-ended and I now have a dent in the rear bumper.Separately, the front bumper has some rust holes.I've attached pictures of both. Can you advise what options I have for getting the dent out and fixing the holes, and potential pricing guesses?  I looked on the supplies page and sent an email to Bumperboyz, as I'm in Los Angeles, so we'll see what they say.  It may be cheaper to replace the front bumper ends than try to fix…See More

Best Distributor Cap Rotors and wires for use with Pertronix III

Posted on July 5, 2013 at 6:13pm 12 Comments

Hello everyone. My 63 Series-62 convertible left me stranded this weekend.  I traced the issue down (I believe) to weak and inconsistent spark. I made the terrible mistake of letting someone else put a new Distributor Cap, rotor, and plug wires in about 2 months ago because I was super busy and didn't have time. When I actually got to taking stuff apart and trying to diagnose it, I realize they put a cheap piece of crap Cap, rotor, and plug set in there. I messed around all day on the 4th…

Hello chapter!

I would love to hear from anyone who lives or travels through the less friendly parts of the world. I live in Los Angeles, and I am never too comfortable leaving my 63 Convertible unattended.

What are your favorite Anti-theft devices for these vehicles and why? Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks!

63 guidematic issues

Posted by maurice lapoiinte on November 24, 2019 at 3:10pm 0 Comments

So my 63 guide matic headlamps stay on low beam all the time. I have so far bypassed the system and everything works normal. I have been thru the trouble shooting in the manual but this is where the confusion begins.on my car when the power relay is powered I have low beam and when its not powered I have highbeam, this appears to be opposite what the diagnosis says should be correct. The wiring is all original and no wires have been mixed up.has anyone ever unplugged the 2 wire connector…

Stuck at two red (dash) lights!

Posted by Jeff Kinzler on November 3, 2019 at 10:00pm 9 Comments

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.

By way of background: The car, a '64 Eldorado has very limited use. It was at a restoration shop for 15 months until last January-  that supposedly did a bunch of wiring repairs including rebuilding the gas gauge that still hasn't worked properly, and the clock that hasn't worked, and re-soldering the broken wires in the drive door. All window and seat controls appear to be…
