Which way does the connector for the window cut out, normal, emergency switch go?

The connector has three evenly spaced ports. It looks like it could go either way. I, idiot, made careful notes and then lost them. The wires are red, white black stripe and yellow black stripe. Continue

I have had the whole switch panel off a few times, to replace bad switches. I can never figure out  how they tightened the door opener handle. With the panel in place, it is about impossible to get…Continue

"Just try it, as you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. If it doe not work as it should reverse the connector. "

fuse-sized 40 amp circuit breaker?

The book says, for the windows on my 62 series convert, either a 25 amp normal fuse or a 40 amp CB,  circuit breaker. My local Advance store can't so far find such a thing, nor are there any on Amazon or eBay. Do we have a source? Try a 40 amp slo blow? a 25 amp slow blow? settle for a 25 amp normal? All my fault, this one - I had to wire a new connector for the bypass switch and I shorted it. Um, I could disconnected the battery..  See More

where do I find a new and better motor?

Posted on May 24, 2018 at 11:43am 11 Comments

My '64 convert is getting better, but the engine remains questionable. Starts and runs well enough, powerful, but I think I hear a main bearing banging, the balance is not great and I'd like to upgrade to fuel injection if I can.

Are there dependable remans available of good quality? Are new crate engines available? Will more advanced engines from newer years fit?

Also, please, the diff ratio is quite high, lots of RPMs compared to today's cars. Are there diffs with lower…

64 Power Servo vacuum leak

Posted by Kent Prows on June 27, 2020 at 4:02pm 0 Comments

I finally got around to fixing a leak in my heater core.  I decided to check to see if there were any other obvious issues while I had everything torn apart.  When I put a vacuum directly (bypassing the transducer) to the power servo it gets to about 10" and then slowly leaks back to zero.  The fan will not go to full and the mode door will not open completely.  I have read a couple of other posts that said they repaired the power servo leaks.  How?  Does anyone have one to sell?  I just…
