Does anyone know the weight, and size (dimensions) of a 63 hood. For shipping. Does someone have any idea how much it would cost to ship from Arizona to Miami,FL

The 63 and 64 Cadillac shares the same core hood.  They have different holes for hood crest and V/wreath, and the 63 has the hood extension bolted to the front lower lip whereas it was incorporated into the upper grill in 1964.  With that said, the core 63/64 hood has a net weight of about 108 lb with an overal dimension of about 65" x 66" x 5".   For the 63 hood, of the front lower hood extension is included it will probably push the net weight up to about 115 lb, and about 65" x 66" x 9" overall size.

Shipping is usually determined by weight, size and distance. You have a heavy, large item, that needs to be shipped a long distance so shipping will probably be expensive. It also depends on the carrier, and depending on the carrier they may require you to "box up' the hood. Many of my customers have dealt with UPS over the 18 years I've been selling parts  and I believe they require items like this to be boxed up. There is also often a charge if the items has to be picked up from a residence, versus a business pickup location or brought to a dorp off center. I think I remember a hood being priced from My central NC Area to Atlanta, GA (about 400 or so miles) and the price being about $400. I've heard some say Greyhound Bus is a good way to ship large items but believe a hood would be too large for them to handle. There are also honest individuals that travel around the country and can save a lot. I posted one person Jerry's Service, on our Help Topic page that I've dealt with.   You will just need to look around and see the best deal.

If shipping is too expensive from AZ to FL I do have a good solid hood from a 1964 Cadillac for $175. You would need to transfer your hood extension or find another one to add back to it.

So my 63 guide matic headlamps stay on low beam all the time. I have so far bypassed the system and everything works normal. I have been thru the trouble shooting in the manual but this is where the confusion begins.on my car when the power relay is powered I have low beam and when its not powered I have highbeam, this appears to be opposite what the diagnosis says should be correct. The wiring is all original and no wires have been mixed up.has anyone ever unplugged the 2 wire connector…

Stuck at two red (dash) lights!

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.

By way of background: The car, a '64 Eldorado has very limited use. It was at a restoration shop for 15 months until last January-  that supposedly did a bunch of wiring repairs including rebuilding the gas gauge that still hasn't worked properly, and the clock that hasn't worked, and re-soldering the broken wires in the drive door. All window and seat controls appear to be…
