The 64 tilt column went into a 63, so its going to be the 651.

Sam, email me at with shipping address for the horn ring. I don't have any tilt neutral safety switches but let me know which you need (651 for Hydramatic or 653 for Turbo Hydramatic) and will put you on the Wait List. Also post on our wanted forum at

ps.. If you need the horn contact and wire I should have a couple of nice ones on hand. $20 + s/h.

The horn contact wire feeds out the opening in the shift lever bowl in the same location as the Neutral Safety Switch cable as seen below:

russ seems my mechanic thinks the wire keeps ripping out has it going over to right of the wheel is it suppose to go in middle somewhere

The brass ring on the tilt wheel, gets dirty, and when the steering wheel gets turned, the contact point moves around in a circle.

Cleaning the contact points on the plunger and the brass ring will get the connection complete again.

Would that help? I have a similar problem with my '63. Horn doesn't work when I push the horn button on the steering wheel but sometimes it suddenly does work -inadvertently- when turning corners.

Clean the brass contact ring and plunger.
