Thanks for letting me join the club.  Picked up this ‘64 Coupe Deville a few months ago out of Beverly MA, the car has few stickers on it from various Cadillac clubs, didn’t know if anyone might recognize it from it’s “Glory days.” Everything seems pretty healthy except for the body and some very Mickey Mouse repairs, was wondering if anyone had any leads on some workable fenders, hood, trunk lid, doors or rear quarters.  It is a hydramatic car, has the floor mounted radio channel switcher and six way power seat as options, at least I think they are options.  And yes it is pink, but I doubt I will keep it that way.

I sure am thankful for the leads on parts, guys.  Just placed a big order with Russ for most of what I will need for the old girl.  Still looking for a more workable trunk lid and ideally some rear quarters, but I’m thankful to have a good chunk of it started.  I’m used to restoring old Chevy’s, where I can just buy the parts new.  Again, appreciate the help!

Thanks for the advice and welcomes everyone.  Russ is working on some of those parts for me.  I’m pretty excited about it.  Getting ready to put an exhaust and gas tank in it this week, I’d like to get it quiet so I can drive it more and get more of an assessment of it’s driving condition.

I reckon Russ, going by the right side glass, she's a coupe. Hey Gary, I would think the floor mounted station selector would be a bit of a rare option these days.

Welcome to the group from the land downunder.

Hello Gary, great find on your car, keep the history alive.  I have fenders, hood, doors but not a trunk lid. The lid I have has some rust.

It looks like you have a coupe?  Hard to tell from the angle of the shot.    Shoot me an email;  russ85747@hotmail.com   I have a shipper that can handle the shipping too.

I was successful in getting a vehicle from the New York contact I talked about at the last club meeting. I am still trying to figure out how to post a picture of the vehicle that is tied with this comment so if you see a random picture of a black convertible in a yard, that's me haha.  …

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…

Can you help? Driveshaft Question....

Posted by Chris on May 30, 2021 at 8:55am 1 Comment

Hello!

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…
