I did this conversion on my '63 convertible a few years ago. I think you'll have to be patient looking for everything you need to do the job right. It will also help to get the wiring harness needed and the different brackets that are welded to the floor pans for both the seats and console. Also, the different heater/AC duct that feeds the air under the console.

Yes I know this as I also have a 66 Eldorado with buckets and a 60 biarritz with bench .
So I've found a few sets so far priced all over the place lol. So I'll probably use 62-64 deville bucket and change the pattern to Eldorado and look for a console separately as I believe those year seats are the same.
I could be wrong lol

Somebody on Facebook marketplace is selling what appears to be a bucket seat parts car convertible here on the East Coast, but it looks like you have a Los Angeles area code. It'd be a long haul for you. Let me know if you still want the link.

If it is this one those are not 64 Cadillac Bucket seats: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/167976064431799/

Chris codd screen shot the add please

It's easy for me to say from 3000 miles away but I'd buy it if it was closer. Those definitely look like Caddy buckets and there is certainly enough other stuff to get your money back and then some.

Yeah, for somebody close with place to store it while you sell parts off of it, it would be a good deal. I'm a little over 200 miles away and just don't have the means to go get it at the moment even though I really want it.

As posted via email to Greg, the deVille and Eldo bucket seats are quite different. Different materials, different pattern, Eldo seats are taller, and Eldo console has the Baku wood grain veneer.  And the patterns between 1963 and 1964 are different.

My books show the wood used in 63 as the Narra wood. That's for the Eldorado and series 60 interior.

1963 Eldorado Biarritz came with imported Philippine Narra wood.  The 1964 Fleetwood Eldorado came with imported African Baku wood. Greg has a 1964 Eldorado which would have come with Baku.  He can of course swap in anything he likes however from emails and posts here it seems he thinks they are are pretty much the same, however, they are different quite different: Styling is different between all 4 convertible bucket seats, and the Eldorado's have a physically taller seat.

For comparison here are illustrations of bucket seats from the spec manual from the 1963 & 1964 Series 62, deVille and Eldorado convertbiles. Note the pattern differences between all 4 and the fact the Eldorado's had a taller upright section:

1963 Series 62 Convertible (63-6267):

1963 Eldorado Biarritz (63-6367):

1964 deVille Convertible (64-6267):

1964 Fleetwood Eldorado (64-6367):

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
