Yesterday I backed Dino out of the garage, and blasted the winter dust off with the air hose, and did several first of the season cruises around town .... filling it up with gas .... gotta do the mandatory cruise down our little down town once, twice, thrice....! Gotta stretch its legs and shoot out to Interstate 40 for a quick fast blast,,, then back around. Oh, got 2 more packages that missed the PO pick up so might as well do a PO run. Hmmm. The wife Cheryl's home from work ... might as well do a Coupe de Pooch Cruise with her and the Youngin's. So... the season is here... and Dino and the Pooches are ready to Let the Good Times Roll!

Good on ya...... and Dino and the tribe look excited. (The wife a bit camera shy?)

The last week-end of Summer here was a week ago, but geez, still bloody hot. We have a good run on next week-end if ya want to tag along Jason. The Redlands Rockabilly Revival is the place to be next Sunday. Great cars and bands.... gotta love life.

I've done my part so far today... 3 cruise outs so far, and about to make my 4th and still just mid day.  About to head out again in a bit.

Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!  Have fun!

Cruising season doesn't come for another month for us. I have seen a few bikes out and about but still two much salt out on the roads for me. Luck you southerners.

You said it Clovis, just when the sun came out and we hit 50 degrees F, the next day we were back into the 30's with snow, wind and cold.

I started the '57 and '64 Cadillacs to shake off the winter hibernation but it was more of a teaser than an actual "out and about" drive down the road.

Probably a good thing, I managed to hit a deer with my '61 Chevy which is MUCH easier to find panels for than either of the Cads.

Oh the joy of motoring!

We cruise all year round where we are. :-)

Bit hot in the summer if you don't have A/C, but right now, coming off summer and there is something on nearly every week-end.

Wish the week-end would hurry up and get here.

I put about 120 miles on Dino with 4 days driving it out and about. Rain's came yesterday and today so Brutus, to Back In Black 'N' Bad to the Bone '02 Escalade EXT, is back to regular hauling-my-butt-around duties for the last couple of days.
But ...... rain has broke and will have Dino out tomorrow for some intense clean-up and then on to the Carolina Collector Auto Fest (www.carolinacollectorautofest.com) Friday and Saturday at the NC State Fairgrounds inside Dorton Arena.

The Carolina Collector Auto Fest is held twice a year - in the Spring & Fall, and should make both of them this year.

Hi Jason,
Absolutely stunning!
Thanks for an INSPIRING post!!

One question:
was "You Ain't Nothin' But a Hound Dog". playing on your radio?
Regards,
Jeff
P.S. my new interior shipped from Jenkins in Wilkesboro today! Hopefully we will be ready to cruise by the time the rhododendrons bloom in May ;)
It you were to look closely, you could see that a figure of Elvis Is hanging from Dino's rear view mirror.

Also, I believe the color is Sierra Gold or Palomino metallic, as Bahama Sand was a non-metallic tan shade. However the vinyl top could possibly be that shade. Either way it's a stunning combo on this car.

Parenthetically the '64 that astounded me as a ten year-old car nut was a Saddle Firemist (the third shade of gold for '64) Eldorado with a tan top.

Dino started its life with a Bahama Sand Body and Aspen White top, but now graces a Sierra Gold body and optional White cross-grain vinyl top.

I feel so common..... just Aspen white all over for us...

Can't wait for Saturday, throw some soapy bubbles all over, hose off, chamois off the remains, quick vacuum ready for some ROCK and ROLL baby.....

I'm even getting a haircut at the Revival. they have barbers that do really slick work, so i'm going to look like a fat version of the Fonz or  Elvis.....

My hair is a mess and I've let it go for a bit ready for this week-end.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
