I have 3 work shelves with countertops flanking the side and back wall on my garage, and a large work bench, and the countertops have always been gloss white but have decided to go with the Cadillac Engine Blue. I guess the fire hydrant I just painted inspired me. Just finished part of my back wall counter.... so I have a looong way to go. I had Home Depot scan a part I had painted with Bill Hirsch Cadillac Blue and think they got it pretty close.

Here's a couple of pics:

That looks great Jason, but that's not a garage, it's a parts warehouse

Nah.. this is the parts warehouse...

Bit of good Aussie music playing I see.

Well Hells Bells, I'm Thunderstruck!  From age 13 to 53, they have been the soundtrack to my life. So... Let's Get It Up and Send for the Man cause he's gonna Shake Your Foundations, cause Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.  Come to Classic Cadillac Parts where Anything Goes and Money Talks and you might get the Down Payment Blues, cause it's a lot of Riff Raff and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, cause Big Jack has Big Balls and a Big Gun and he's Back in Business Again with Guns for Hire that are Hard as a Rock come Hell or High Water.  So Have a Drink on Me, Shoot to Thrill,  and Smash and Grab some of those Cadillac Parts on your Highway To Hell!  Yours Truly, Jason "Problem Child" Edge.

Time for your nap Jason LOL

Actually it might be a good time for a nap, as I've been going since 4:30am. Wife is about to do a 1/2 day trip with her mom and I'm about to remove the last of some 80 year old 4" cast iron drain pipe from under our 106 year old house, so we are all PVC and have T's and cleanouts ready for a new addition next year.  Just give me some of that Ruff Stuff.... gotta be a true Bangor-Manian to get that, or the pun within a pun!

Its not called a nap any more mate.

Its now called a going for a "SCAN". (Senior Citizens Afternoon Nap)

Speak for yourself ... you old Codger!  I tell people I slid out of neutral and shifted into gear when I turned 50! I had sat at a desk for NC Dept of Revenue for 24 years and now ready to GET UP and GET IT ON! lol

"Its a long way to the top, if ya wanna rock and roll", but here in Oz, and most likely around the world, its often called "Its a long way, to the shop, if ya wanna sausage roll"

Filmed on the back of flat bed truck driving through the streets of Melbourne.

Today is definitely one of those Busy Days, Tony.  Just back to my desk at about 2pm for a break after my Phase 1 of plumbing "adventure" for today.  Got the old 4" drain pipe out and new in and now will take old smaller pipe off the kitchen and tap into the head of the new pipe.

1st 2 pictures below were taken about 6am this morning as I was setting up for the plumbing work.  2nd 2 were just taken. last picture is what I removed. Now back to Phase 2!

Where I was at 6am

Where I was at 2pm

What I have taken out so far:

I was fitting some lowered coil springs the other morning at 6:30 in 0 degree Celsius temps. It was friggin cold too. I've got to start sorting out the shed at the other place soon.

Its 7 metres (23 feet) x 15 metres (49 feet) and I want to paint out the floors, line the walls then start setting up work benchs, tool boxes and then bung up a large carport beside it for the hoist.

In between all that, still putting through the odd car for sale. This XK Falcon came up nice and should sell in the next week or two.

Sounds like you are having too much fun.  What year Falcon is that. My dad use to have a 64 that was a fun little car. I taught one of my first girlfriends how to drive in that car when she turned 16.  I finished up at 4:40pm today...so that was a 12hr + go. Ready for some food now! LOL  Forgot to mention that I pressure washed, primed and painted the other fire hydrant (at least to the gloss white coat), and pulled all the furniture off the wrap around porch and pressure washed porch wall and floor waiting on the Misses to leave today so i could pull out the plumbing.

Here's a couple of pictures of my 2nd phase of plumbing today. Our kitchen and laundry drain had went all the way to the back of the house then turned and tapped in to the old cast iron pipe and was prone to clogging. I cut all of that out and tapped in via a 1 1/2" to 2" to 3" to 4" reducers.   When I go back under the kitchen and laundry it is going to be all 3" pipe on that branch. Anyway... the song of today was definitely Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap!

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
