1964 Coupe DeVille Convertible

I would call it a barn find, except it was inside a garage the entire time, not a barn. 

From the first moment I laid eyes on this beautiful car, I have loved it. I purchased it from the second owner and I drove it every summer. I have had it for exactly twenty years this month. About ten of those in storage, driven less than fifty miles in last ten years as I kept moving.

I had a restoration guy put on a brand-spanking new top, install a new top motor and replace the back plastic window with a glass one. I picked out beautiful, high-quality leather for him to reupholster the interior with, after he stripped all the seat frames and cut new fluffy foam for the seats… and then he just stopped working on it.

I had to take the car away from him, and here it has sat in storage for last two years, ready to be finished by someone with more time than me.

The body has always been straight, minor surface scratches from some creature on trunk lid. I do not drive it now, but it starts and runs strong after a little starting fluid. Tires will hold air for a while, but I believe they are the originals and should be replaced. I had the tranny rebuilt shortly before I stored it, so very few miles on that rebuild. 

Less than 50,000 original miles on car, and looks great if put back together. It will look mind blowing if someone wants to finish interior.

It is not currently licensed, as I said it has not been driven on the roads legally since 2009, titled and registered originally in Washington State.

I need to find title in all my paperwork, it is in a box somewhere. So, there’s that.

I love this car and do not want to sell it, but storage is very expensive in California and I have lost mine. Everything in life is negotiable, but I won’t entertain any lowball offers, sorry. I have this car listed on other sites for more, and it is worth more. But for this site, I I have a lower price listed, because members of this site will appreciate and love this car like I have.

Hello I've been restoring a 63 for way to many years. Down to almost done, but have issue with trans linkage, when column in park shift rod 2 inches short. everything original. been trying to find picture of manual rod hooked up from under car to see position of linkage. was wondering if anybody has access for pictures. Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

Hello!

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…
