I have purchased a 1963 4 door cadillac that was stored since 1974.

Its a minnesota car but not that bad. the quarter panels are still good,3 of 4 doors are good. the dash is mint.

the front end is complete, but the right end cap lower is shot. left is fixable.

its a blue car with blue interior, which is in pretty good shape.

I will tell you that the boomerang pieces and the hood is already gone to my project car.

by end of november it may go to the crusher

its going to be gone sooner than that.

Walt, If you were closer I would be interested. I would suggest trying to find someone near by that could either dismantle the car and put parts up in dry storage (as I do with my parts cars), or stick it under a shelter somewhere and pick parts off as needed. There is eventually a demand for almost everything usable off these cars but it doesn't occur within 1 month. I like to repeat the fact an old car like this breaks down to about 5000 parts and I probably still have 2000 parts from that 1st parts car I brought in back in March 1997 ... and am very comfortable with that fact since I am in it for the long haul. If you just post a car on Oct and say it is going to the crusher in Nov, you may move a few very high demand parts... and that is if you are lucky.  Just relaying my experience.

I pushed it into my grove of trees for now. I'll get pictures of it an post.

Some pictures of the car might help you move some parts off of it.

Where are you located ?

How many miles on the car ?

Enjoy

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…

Can you help? Driveshaft Question....

Posted by Chris on May 30, 2021 at 8:55am 1 Comment

Hello!

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…

V.I.N. where?

Posted by Robert Pellow on April 18, 2021 at 1:41pm 6 Comments

Where can I find the V.I.N. on a 63 convertible?  The usual space at the base of the interior windshield on the driver's side has been decimated by weather.
