I've bounced around here on the forum. Has anyone used the retro kit by Auto A/C Solutions out of Texas ? Any thoughts ?

I have never heard of that AC kit on this site and I am on here at least twice a day since 2006
There is a lot of good info about AC repair in the search section ( library posts ) top right of the home page
Clovis has posted one of the better posts on restoring the 64 comfort control that covers the subject extremely well
Hope that helps
Enjoy
I’ve not taken the deep dive into my own CC system, but I have Cadillac Tim’s book on the matter and have read it.
It seems fairly simple to work on these old systems. I’d invest the $50 in the Comfort Control system book and attempt to trouble shoot before putting an after market system in.
Of course, if your car does not have a factory ac system, that is a different story.
Cadillac Tim’s book on the stock 64 cc system is as good as it gets to get it to work as it should - which is outstanding when right
The 64 Service Manual does not help you fully understand the cc system due to updates that took place after its printing to improve the system
Enjoy
All the AC updates that took place to the cc system came after the Service Manual being published and are in the Service Bulletins that came after the Bible as the updates took place
Those Service Bulletins are available to read on this site if they should be needed
Enjoy
I never heard or used this kit when i restored my 64 cc system. Mine now works perfectly as a result of the restoration. I had no previous refrigerant training or do this sort of thing before. After studying a bit I bought all the tools needed and all the parts required. The system is really four systems in one. A cooling, heating, vacuum and electrical electronic system. Each system has to be verified they are working correctly in order for the whole system to work.
Most shops and people just try to make one part of the system work and most of the time that never works as other things are inoperable.
This fifty eight year old technology is pretty simple to today's standards. I saved myself a huge amount of money doing my own servicing.

Always enjoy you stoping by and your input for what you add to this site
I do not see some of the canisters that were on the driver side when you first installed the fuel injection carb
Have you removed the fuel injection unit ? Or just doing something else with that set up ?
Very glad to see that your Cadillac restoration has come a long way and well as I know you have other projects in the works often
Was not sure how much attention the Cadillac restoration was getting with all else going on
Is your Cadillac road worthy yet or still a work in progress ?
That is a very handsome looking 4 door Cadillac you have there
I remember the Cadillac having a very special look when I first saw a picture of it —- nice different color
Enjoy

Your engine bay looks well cared for and involved
Can we have a clue what you have going on under there with the additions you have made
Enjoy

I've posted about this issue in the past and I thought I had it resolved. It would appear I do not as it has reared its ugly head again. My TH400 in the 64 Fleetwood has an intermittent problem of…Continue

Good Morning all!
I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response, has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you

I've looked at the usual rubber sources but couldn't find any.
