1963 Cadillac ,
My question is what do you guys think Bucket Seats add to the value of a Convertible Series 62?
They are less comfortable but look good.
I know all the parts from the welded brackets to the wiring, ect. It is a very intensive project to do it as it was factory. It is the only way. I have a set with the parts. I have a parts car I got just for the buckets. It is a coupe that is in very dough shape. In respect I am stripping the car to the frame. It is a rust free convertible I have had for 35 years. Is a Ca Car where I am from and have kept it inside for 33 and covered for the first 2 years.
I did this conversion on my '63 convertible a few years ago. It's hard to say how much value it adds. If a buyer is looking for bucket seats, I think it would it would reflect in the price. if the buyer is neither here nor there, I think they would add some value but not all that much.
Sounds like you are going to do it the right way which I agree is the only way to go. All in all, it was a very satisfying project for me.
