In looking through the carb forums, they all seem to be a bit stale. Has anyone tried the newer AVS2 1906 carb and have some feedback?

Hi Jeff
im running the AVS2 1905 Manuel choke on my 390 works great just make sure you use the the adaptor plate
when I first fitted the carby ( new straight out the box) I couldn’t get it run smoothly due to flooding it was doing my head in as I followed the instructions. I ended up taking the top off the carby and found a foreign gasket inside the fuel bowl (see attached pic)which was causing it to flood I wasn’t impressed Edelbrock was sent an email about the problem (I got no answer from them) after I removed it worked like a charm.have fun with it

First I have heard of someone using this carb on one of our year Cadillacs
Can you tell me the advantage of using this carb over the 1406 electric choke which is the stock Carter replacement I most often see used for a Carter replacement from Edelbrock
The Manual choke could be best possible choke set up but my electric choke has worked out very well
Enjoy

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response, has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you

I've looked at the usual rubber sources but couldn't find any.

Hey guys, I need some help. Could someone send me some pictures on how the first hood release lever on a factory 1964 Cadillac is set up, where it comes though the grille. Not the secondary one. I need to know where the thumb or finger position is located through the grille. Is it above or below the center grille molding piece? Mine seems to be positioned behind the center molding piece and will not adjust above or below the molding. I have a wire tied to it to release it…
