Maaaate,  I do the last bit nearly everyday.

Hey, how cool is it, the way this thread has stayed on topic and not wandered. PMSL :-)

You guys wanted a General message thread where we could wander all over the roads like Bias Ply with a sloppy worn our front end! Yee Ha!

But would he get dizzy?

Actually it is funny how technology creeps up on us and we do not realize it. I made the analogy of modern transportation to driverless automated Uber cars and have an Uber and Tech related story.  Yesterday, I booked our hotel in San Marcos for the Grand National from the iPhone no less, and gave my wife the dates. I told her we needed to think about if we wanted to drive or fly, and before I could catch my breath she had pulled San Marcos up on her iPhone, told me it was 1300+ miles, or 20 hrs of driving, looked at potential interim stops, pulled up flights, and told me flying would be better. I told her we could drive and she would have the Escalade to drive around and she immediately said, "Oh, I can just Uber around with my phone to where I need to go".   My wife is not technical but like most people, she catches on fast and uses technology wherever and whenever it makes life easy.

What a time ---to have my -- Crystal Ball -- in the Repair Shop !!
Talk about --POOR TIMING on my end --LOL !!

I find these thoughts on the future to be so very very interesting
The future sure seems so very bright with the advancements in technology we have already experienced and the way they have changed our lives it is hard to even imagine what is in the future
There may be a new --Steve Job or Bill Gates being born or living -- as we post

I sure hope you are all correct about how our lives should improve for the better --keeping --Hope -in our world of the future is important
Then I remember --we are on a planet --spinning somewhere --in outer space --and what could possibly ---go Wrong !!!!
That is if Trump does not kill all of us with his world nuclear policies
Live -Love the people who desirve your Love and drive the hell out the Classics cars we own for tomorrow is not promised to anyone
As the Romans said --live -love and be merry for tomorrow --we Die !!
"There is no easy way out " ( just quoting the great profit --Tom Petty )
Enjoy yourself --it is always later than we think

The --Lady --you won over at the drag races --is high tech just because she is standing next to you --our computer wiz
The apple does not fall far from the tree

Very very funny --front end humor !

My dear old Dad, would always say....

All over the place like a mad woman's breakfast. :-)

OH NO -----------i will just keep using the --dashboard - and screw up the works as usual
Only kidding --but sadly --so true
It is very easy for -a given subject --to cause a spin off thought ---for the inteligencia among us --PMSL !!!

Hello I've been restoring a 63 for way to many years. Down to almost done, but have issue with trans linkage, when column in park shift rod 2 inches short. everything original. been trying to find picture of manual rod hooked up from under car to see position of linkage. was wondering if anybody has access for pictures. I wanted to see if my manual linkage is bent  wrong out of the trans if somebody dropped the trans or something. Doesn't make sense why it doesn't work. Thanks for any input…

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…

Can you help? Driveshaft Question....

Posted by Chris on May 30, 2021 at 8:55am 1 Comment

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…
